MapTool LFR event calender
I keep this calender up-to-date:
MapTool LFR event calender (needs Javascript; using the timezone of your computer)
XML: http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/o8 ... blic/basic
ICAL: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/o8p ... /basic.ics
The old manual Calenders:
Eastern Time
London
Berlin

Re: Google Calendar
If I enter the date and time correctly, that should put an end to timezone confusion. If there is a timezone to add, tell me.

Re: Google Calendar
Yeah, that looks quite useful. With the increase in games organized through the forum, it's getting a bit difficult to keep track of them all. (There were a few instances where I almost forgot I joined a game.)
How does the updating work? It seems somewhat burdensome if it's all manual.

Re: Google Calendar
"Thumbs up" from me.
Is this something easy enough that the DMs can post to the calendar?
Can players subscribe to the calendar and be notified of updates?

Re: Google Calendar
I could grant other users r/w access to the calender, like how its is with our slot document. I don't know how it is with the timeszones though.
Here are several URLs:
XML: http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/o8 ... blic/basic
ICAL: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/o8p ... /basic.ics
HTML: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ope/Berlin
At least for the HTML, the timezone seems to be changeable.

Re: Google Calendar
Can a program be coded so that a DM enters information such as Date, Time, Time Zone, Module, Tier, etc., into the program which can populate the Google calendar?

Re: Google Calendar
It seems like Americans not understanding their own time zones and how Daylight Savings Time works is the only problem and that a detailed sticky explaining the two concepts would work better and not require constant upkeep.

Re: Google Calendar
Agreed.
Part of the problem may be that MS apparently doesn't understand DST either as it seems impossible to configure for Outlook so that it sends out invitations with the correct time zone unless you actually change the clock on the computer!

Re: Google Calendar
You sure can access a google calendar by an api. If that is not very complicated I will implement that shortly. If it is more work, I have to defer it to a later point where I have some spare time (hopefully soon).mr0bunghole wrote:Can a program be coded so that a DM enters information such as Date, Time, Time Zone, Module, Tier, etc., into the program which can populate the Google calendar?
Well that might be one problem, but another one is, that we have so many games right now (thats really good), so many that you might loose track of same games, which were announced early.emperor799 wrote:It seems like Americans not understanding their own time zones and how Daylight Savings Time works is the only problem and that a detailed sticky explaining the two concepts would work better and not require constant upkeep.

Daylight savings are handled by that calendar. You don't have to worry.Eltherian wrote:Just a reminder that the English clocks go forward tonight.
