Post subject: SALE - Fantastic Maps
PostPosted: Tue Aug 24, 2010 7:03 pm
My Fantastic Maps range is on sale this week (all 30% off, and the bundle reduced even more). The map packs have shiny new covers like this:

Image

Each map pack has a jpg map sized for use with maptool (mostly with a 100px grid but a couple of earlier maps are 75px), along with a printable multi-page map pack if you want to use it at a gametable. Many of the map packs contain maptool files with the VBL drawn in and grids and lighting set up for either 4e or OGL games. All of them will have these files included in early September (they're all done, just not quite uploaded yet). If you buy now, you will get the new files with the maptool files when they are updated - so no reason to hold off.

Enjoy! Sale ends September 1st. You can find all the map packs here.

Yeah, I'm a cheap bastard but this has me very tempted... :)

I'm currently running a Paizo adventure path so I don't have a huge need for auxiliary maps immediately but I may be better off to get these now...

:) Glad you guys like them. There will be more up in the fairly near future as I have a few more just completed for Rite that will become map packs. When you pick them up, let me know if there's anything you'd like to see in these packs in the future.

I would love to see more outdoors individual objects available in your style. Trees, bushes, hillocks, rocks, ponds, wells, watch tower, wooden palisades, etc. Ie, a catch all of outdoorsy objects. Not sure if this would be something for a Map Pack for sale, or if you would rather provide as a resource for Maptools directly. Either way, I would love to have such things.

Get your Dropbox 2GB via my referral link, and as a bonus, I get an extra 250 MB of space. Even if you don't don't use my link, I still enthusiastically recommend Dropbox..

Yep I have enough outdoor work that I could put together a good map pack of outdoor items. I'd like to team that up with the textures to make an outdoor settings - but the irregular nature of outdoor terrain makes that a little tricky. I'll sit down soon and figure out how to make a winding river - that's the one that has me a little stumped. That would take the form of a resource library like the current tileset rather than a full map pack.

Cool.... I like free. But, I did end up buying the map pack Bundle. How soon do you expect the updates to be available? I will wait before downloading if it won't more than a week or two.

I sell these with Rite Publishing and their a bit slammed right now so the updates may be a couple of weeks. I'd suggest downloading it now - and if you have electronic updates enabled from RPGNow then you'll get a note when they are updated. I'll post here when they are as well.

Ah.. Ok.. I am purchasing these for my brother(trying to get him to use Maptool... now that he has a new 58" tv screen he may be more inclined to try to GM with it himself) to hopefully use. Since my campaign is currently all underground, I don't think any of these can really fit into my current themes(well, perhaps the dragon cave might way down the road) for the next 3-5 levels(they should escape the Underdark around the 10th level or so.)

Hmm.. perhaps some Underdark style maps would be a good seller? Maybe some mushroom forests, geode cave, underground stream/river, etc. At least it would be something I would consider so as to not have to make all the maps myself(I currently use GE's cave tiles, but want to create my own that includes some pre-built cavern systems... just have not had the time)

The Low River might work for you there. It's not 100% bare cavern as there are some ruins in there, but it's definitely subterranean. All of the recent ones have maptool files built in at the moment - Dragon's Lair and Low River for certain. As for other maps - I've got a mushroom cave in the works. I just need to find an hour or two to finish it (but that could be a while before I get that clear time).

Personally, I would like more desert maps(DMing Legacy of Fire) and a Black Forest type maps. You know with rivers and trees, briar patches, fallen trees and such. However, anything you do is fine by me as I will figure out a way to use it.

There should be a forest glade in the works. I need to check that one off. Fordeserts - what kind of stuff would you use? Deserts can be very featureless...

A treasure promising ruin (or ghost town) in the dessert - halve burried in the sand - could be fun too.
