I'm looking to start a game (prolly in a week or two at earliest) on Thursday evenings for about 3 hours a session, hopefully weekly (but sometimes crap happens, will advise at least by monday if that week will work).

I intend to run a, for lack of a better term, 'hardcore' Dark Sun. Basically, I mean non-thematic options wont be available unless you can give me a very appealing refluffering: this primarily effects PC race choices.

Sadly, there seem to be waaaaay more people wanting to play than willing to DM. So if you want to play, this is what I need from you.

1st- you gotta be on time. If you're consistently late you'll likely get bumped.
2nd- a short character write up (pre-character sheet) that includes at least a bit of back story. Give me 1-3 things I can work into the story sometimes. Doesn't have to be crazy long, but have it be something that can be explored in game.
3rd- what you want out of a game/what your playstyle is. In other words "I'm hack n slash i just like combat' or 'i want rp based on my backstory' etc.

I'll update this post with people who will likely be playing.

Edit: A couple really good questions were asked.

I will likely be using Rumble's framework, I've had an easier time of making monster tokens for it in the past.

I also intend everyone to use skype. I think I'll have too much RP for typing to actually flow well, as it bogs down games terribly. If someone had a vent server we could also use that.

I don't mind if you are not strict 4E Dark Sun PC races as long as it is thematic and/or can be refluffed easily into an open group (so Dragonborn as Dray or Nikaal are fine, but gnomes or orcs would still be pushing it). I'll also say that while I am familiar with Dark Sun to a degree, if you've been an addict since it was published in the 90s you'll likely know more than me. You're welcome to share that lore with me and the group, and as long as it's not disruptive I'll actually appreciate it.

Non Dark Sun character options that are specific to other settings like dragonmarks and spellscars are out. I mean, you can try and give me a cool character reason but please don't be upset if it's still a no.

And finally if you are interested and wish to start working on a character we'll begin at level 2.

So I have a question. Will you be using a 4e framework for maptools such as veggie or deviant null? If you are I would be very interested in joining in. I am an experienced 4e player/dm.

Still a valid question, and it does make games much more fluid and less painful.

I'd be very interested in this. Is there still room? I want to play a barbarian with the templar theme. He'd be from Gulg, naturally.

Hey im interested as well. I have a couple characters I would like to play. A rogue or a battlemind. My story for the rogue is a little bit more fleshed out right now thought. Let me know if you still have space and what would be better for the group.

I have two characters in mind, a leader and a defender, either of which I'd love to play:

Borhan, human Ardent, Elemental Priest theme
Raised among a small mishmash of wasteland tribes and Thri-kreen that settled near Urik, Borhan studied at the mysterious Royal Observatory when he began showing potential with his powers and a learning capability. It was not a good fit, so he was ordered to leave to continue his education at the King's Academy in Urik, and his memory of his time at the Observatory was wiped. Borhan decided to return to his roots instead and has been focusing on developing his inner psionic abilities while being guided by the land's spirits to help lead the fight defilement.

Masur son of Sahr, human Wild Battlemind, Wilder theme
One of two identical twins born in a remote nomadic tribe in the far south, his trouble-making brother was sold into slavery at a young age. Some time after that Masur began to show extraordinary wild psionic powers and it is hinted his brother might be special too, only he's probably even less nice after being sold into slavery by his family. So Masur sets off to find his brother and restore honor to his tribe.


I like combat and immersive RP.

Hey, I'd be interested in playing. My schedule is pretty open this semester so I'd be able to make it a lot the time. I'd play a human wizard and I have his story thought out. I'm a fan of whatever when it comes to DnDing.

This guy's been MIA for awhile and hasn't been responding to PMs, so I'm assuming this game is dead. You guys might want to look elsewhere.
