Post subject: Pathfinder Framework Macros etc.
PostPosted: Sat May 07, 2011 4:15 am
Hi all,

not sure I'm in the right place but I am relatviely new to maptools 9well, recently returned) and I am looking to run a Pathfinder Campaign, The Curse of the Crimson Throne. Can anyone tell me if there is a framework for this and if there is how it works? I don't have any idea at all how to create, or import the framework or even how frameworks work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

regards,

luq

Yes, there is a framework for 3.5/Pathfinder. It is in the User Creations subforum. To use it, just download the .cmpgn file from the forum and save to a directory on your hard drive. Then open MapTools (I would stick with B82 until B87 comes out). Make sure your settings for stack size is 4mb(you can try 2mb, but I have problems with larger macros erroring YMMV). Then on the file menu Open Campaign and select the file you downloaded earlier. When it loads, a input dialog frame will pop-up asking you some questions to understand what type of game you are playing and some other features. Answer the questions and select the OK button. Now you are ready to start making your own campaign for Curse of the Crimson Throne. If you need more help, just let me know and I can set some time aside on a weekend to work with you.

Well that Frame work is great but I just need a little help using it.

If I'm making tokens for beasties, whats the best wy to do i?

Do i need to fill in a characer sheet for them so that the macros work?

I guess I just assign macros to different token as I need them but how do I fill in the values?

Depends on what software you like to use. HeroLab, PC-Gen, Excel, Text Editor or PDF reader. If you can get the statblock for a NPC/creature in a standard format, then it is easiest to use the Statblock2Token macro as it does like 80% of the heavy lifting for you. If not, then use the SetupBlank macro. Just drop a jpg/png/tokentool image on the map and select it then click on the SetupBlank macro and it will step you thru the process of making a token. If you are using a stock no-frills creature from the Monster Manual or Bestiary, head on over to iMarvin's website and download the rptok file and drop on the map. Then double click the token, go to config tab and switch the Properties dropdown to your system. If you need help, email me at neofax99 <AT> gmail dot com and we can jump on vent and I can step you thru the process.

Hi there neofax. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you but I have a 3 year old daughter and a 4 monthj old son so I'm struggling to find the time.

Just to let you know I managed to get a token into my map from my stock of tokens, went into properties and changed it to pathfinder and low and behold the token then had all the pathfinder stats but obviously all blank. There is also a blank character sheet asociated with it. Whats best to do? Fill in the stats on the token or fill in the character sheet or do I have to do both?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Sorry that I missed this post! Anyhow, if you downloaded Lindsay's most current or the PFS version FW, the Statblock2Token macro is already included. It is a black button on the Campaign Frame near the bottom.
