Like the title says any plans to add support for wargames like Warhammer Fantasy battles, 40k, and other games that don't use grids?

When creating a map, select the icon alllll the way to the right, looks like two bloody bandages crossed (or a "red x" if you prefer) viola, no grid.

There are long threads in the forum how a future MT could support wargamers better. Many of those discussed features might make it into a MT1.4 or 1.5 - but currently there is a feature freeze to get some necessary code restructuring going.

As aku said gridless is already supported.

There are some macro packages that allow grouping of tokens that might be cool for wargaming.

I see now that there is support for gridless movement. But I think some things that need to be implimented for tight formation games like Warhammer Fantasy Battles like move as one, and wheeling.

Yep. Those will likely be handled by a plugin of some type. We're not sure if it will be a macro (as in, JavaScript) or a Java-based plugin because we haven't worked out yet what kind of "generic" movement features we're going to be adding. But we'll be back to poll the community and find out what kind of features would be useful. (Our fan base has learned a lot over the last year about what MT can or cannot do as they implement these fantastic macros! I'm betting we'll have a lot of input. ;))

That's good to hear.

Have you had a look at my group macros? The offer some support to formations. You find it if you follow the link in my sig. I guess it does not provide all that WH needs and it has some limits with gridless maps...

If there would be requests I might think about developing it further (MT has improved since I wrote that macro package) - although I have limited time todays.
