New Art Pack! Dorpond's Tree Pack 3 & 4

Post by dorpond »

OK, let me know if I am out of control with trees. :) I just find myself wanting to make different styles and seasons, and one comes after the next, and then another, then 100 trees later... Heh.

These two packs should probably be one, but in the end I decided to separate them. Pack 3 is more me experimenting with different textures, styles and leaves - plus I wanted less leaves that previous packs. Pack 4 is more of me trying to create a progression from fall to winter (leaves getting brown, slowly falling off, and then finally a snow covered tree without leaves).

Hope it comes in handy!

I've supplied Grid200, Grid100, and Grid50 versions.
How to Download Art Pack
You can get this tile pack by simply by opening Maptool and going to:
File -> Add to Resource Library, and click on the red gear. You will see his pack in the list.

Maptool Bugs
Couple things worth mentioning:
1. Unfortunately there was a bug in Maptool 1.3B86 that prevents you from downloading art packs – Booo! :P
2. 1.3B87 (the latest version of Maptool) allows you to get art packs just fine, however, the license file will not appear during installation. I will supply that below. This will be fixed in Maptool 1.3B88.
3. Maptool 1.3b60 through 1.3B84 works fine when it comes to downloading and installing Art Packs. B85 works but doesn't show the license.
Enjoy!

The pinkish tree would work really well for a Samurai Cherry Blossom battle. Too bad you don't have a tileable Cherry Blossom leave overlay. Especially if it was a animated gif and MapTool could handle it. I really like them and keep up the good work!

I cut a cheery flower out of a tree from an on-line source, and I made 6 trees for you. If you are in a hurry, I can post them in the user creations section or you can wait for a Tree Pack 5. But no, I cannot animate them. :P ;)

What service! I was just saying that is what came to mind when I saw the pinkish tree from earlier. But now that you posted that I will think of a small adventure for the kids based on Oriental lore. My son will love it! Thanks!

Does thanks really cut it for this kind of resource output? I doubt it, but thanks anyway!

Thanks Bogie! :D

I plan of getting these to the Dundjinni group also! It is the least I can do for all the great help you guys have been to us! :)

The hurdle I face is the 11 meg files size limit over at RPGMapshare, so I need to break up the packs into smaller packs, etc, etc. It's all that time consuming and tedious - not so fun, stuff that needs to take place. I'll make it happen within the next couple days.

Great job Dorpond! I especially like the progressive autumn ones. That's the realistic touch which is usually lacking. Thanks a lot.
