Newbie Forum Question - Sending Messages

Post by Lord.Ashes »

The message section of the forum contains an Inbox, Outbox and Sent Messages.

What is the difference between the Outbox and Sent Messages? I have, as far as I know, sent out a message to a forum member but the message seems to be remaining in my Outbox. I would have expected that it would have migrated to my Sent Messages.

Initially I thought that it may remain in the Outbox for a while because the forum might send out all queued messages at certain intervals but my message has remained in the Outbox for more than a day now.

I am doing something wrong?

Hmm .. all my PMs sent are in "Sent Messages". Would it be possible that "Outbox" holds unread PMs?

I don't think so because:

1) It is called "Outbox".

and

2) I seem my last PM in it.

I meant PMs you sent but that are not read yet by the recipient.

I come to this conclusion since all the PMs I sent are in the Sent Messages-folder and the Outbox is empty.

the assumption is correct. I have it regularly that messages remain 'stuck' in my outbox for days as the recipient does not log in for that period. Note that as long as a message is in your outbox you can edit it!

Okay...I see...So when I send a PM it goes to the Outbox and will remain in the Outbox until the person to whom the PM was sent reads the message. Correct?

Good to know. Thanks.
