Re: Help with drawing feature
The display on the bottom right shows the mouse pointer's grid location.
If you hold CTRL while drawing the drawing tool will snap to grid. There is no way to show the relative grid position alongside the drawing dimensions but you could always put in a Feature Request for it.- Sat Mar 25, 2023 11:12 pm

Bot.
Besides, this is nothing new. Traveler did it decades ago. Your character could literally live an entire life in Chargen. Amusing as it was there's a reason it didn't catch on.

Re: Token shapes
As said, MT doesn't support long token footprints. But there is a workaround that doesn't involve image editing that works pretty well. 1 - Select a footprint for your token that fits the lesser dimension. 1x2 - choose 1 grid square. 2x4 choose 2 grid squares. 2 - Change token to an object and go to...

Re: Enable "touch" features.
MT definitely used to support touch in windows. You couldn't do everything but you could do enough to drive the map. Pinch to zoom and the opposite. Select tokens. Hold for Context menu. Drag tokens around. I don't have a touchscreen anymore so haven't tried recently.

Re: Help with Shapeshift/switchToken
I'm not sure switchToken() is doing what you think it's doing. Ironically it may be the answer you're looking for though. switchToken() changes the token context the macro is executing on, so if you want the code to run for a specific Token, you switch to it and for the rest of the macro the ...

Re: How do I bring back a campaign from an old MT version?
Usually you step the save file up through versions of maptool, by loading and saving a few versions up from the old version until you get to the latest.

Re: Player token expose FoW as it moves?
Exposing as a PC moves is a option when you start a server. You may be able to expose hexes with the GRID option for vision. Not tried it myself, you'd have to play with it.

So, just going to add my experience, not saying one thing or another. I write a looooot of d20 attack macros. As a result I test a looooot of d20 attack macros. Just a lot of time pressing 'attack' and seeing the result. Now, a lot of times I keep pressing til a crit happens so I can check th...

Re: Hosting alternatives
UPnP is just an automated way for Maptool to open a port on your router.
Hosting is always on your machine, except for a very experimental way someone wrote about to run one on AWS.
If you can't open a port you may have to use a VPN.

First thing to check is that your players are using the same MT settings that you are.
