Maptool and Windows 8

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that the sticky instructions at the top of this forum on how to get Maptool working w/ Windows 7 and Java 6 also works with Windows 8 Pro.

Re: Request: Demon Queen's Enclave

To whomever is interested, I am picking back up DM'ing and am in the process of building the Demon' Queen's enclave campaign module. If you are interested in using it, I will post the campaign file once I am done...which should be in a week or 2, depending on how much time I can devote to all the ma...

Maptool on Windows RT?

I know that the MS Surface RT can only use apps that are installed via the windows store, but since MT is run on Java (which I assume runs on Windows RT), is running MT on the MS Surface RT an option? I don't have an RT yet, but this would be a big reason to either get it or not for me since I DM a ...

Can a countdown marco be coded in Maptool?

Hey everyone, Due to some extremely slow players, I am enforcing a time limit on their turns. Is there a way that a countdown timer can be encoded in Maptool? Something that just countdowns from X to 0 and then makes a sound when complete? I did a search and there seems to be a stopwatch, but not a ...

Re: Mouse zooming issues in Windows 7

I would just make sure to point to the correct version of those programs. You can run java 6 and 7 on the same computer. MapTool only uses java 6 and with the help of the mt.cfg file and running the program with MapToolLauncher.exe. So, when adding specific programs to your list I believe it is usi...

Re: Mouse zooming issues in Windows 7

I know this is an old issue, but I recently had it, and I found a solution that worked for me. I am using a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000, and I have, presumably, the newest version of Intellipoint (Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit). When you open Mouse in Control Panel, there is a link entitled "Id...

Re: Unable to import macros

Hmm, not sure why the export/import is not working. Which export are you using and from what source. Which location are you importing the macros to? Worse case scenario, you can move your macros to a token then save the token, then drop token in to new campaign. Importing them to a token worked. Sa...

Re: Unable to import macros

Check the Announcements for JAVA 7 and Windows users. You have to set the path to the javaw for java 6. You can have both version of java if you do this. Thanks for the response aliasmask. Unfortunately, pointing to Java 6 in the mt.cfg file did not solve the issue. To clarify, the campaign file lo...

Unable to import macros

Hey guys, I am getting back into Maptools after over a year of not using it and I am happy to see that it is alive and well. I am using build 87 and recently finished a module. I want to export my macros from that module into the next module, but I get the following error with I try to import them. ...

Re: Pyramid of Shadows

What is the total number of bases required for a level 2 pyramid? Level 2 cheer squad, doing an inside hitch pyramid. I know they have to be hitched first at prep level but do they have to have 3 people on the bottom. Could the team have a main base and a back spot? We are trying make the pyramid b...

No problem Evenodds. I am glad all my work was useful to someone else. Unfortunately, my DnD group fell apart, so I had no reason to create any more adventures. If I pick it back up, I will let you know.

Re: High Critical, Brutal, Attack Macro Question

I have used this code from another source (thanks to whoever wrote it). I'm trying to add a expanded crit range into the code without re-writing it. Secondly I would like to add the damage as brutal, I think I just add r3 behind the d12. Any suggestion? Thanks [T("Attack:"):Attack=1D20]</...

Re: 1 month DDI a good idea still?

I'd wait to buy a one month sub until they get the Essentials information in there. They're pretty haphazard about their "monthly" updates these past few months. Looks like this will never happen. They're going to debut the essentials material with their web-based builder. When this comes...
