Re: Managing old maps

There's a couple of things I do. Save the campaign for archival, delete maps I don't need on current campaign. You can also import/export maps allowing you to delete from campaign, but you can reload it back whenever.

Re: Bug : unable to register your server.

Craig noticed this this morning and put in a fix. It was due to a server attack. So, should be good now. Not sure why there weren't any other reports on this. The server registry isn't necessarily needed to run a game if your clients use direct connect and you don't specify a name for server.

Re: Click point on screen...possible?

Being able to click a position on the map and get the x,y position of the map would be super handy. Ie, summon creature or dropping other tokens on to the map via macro frame. I can imagine having a frame of images/tokens, dragging one from the frame on to the map. It would need to be apart of the s...

Re: Joe's Ugly Hacks 'Drop-in' macro libraries - Event suggestions for v0.2a?

I know I've done onTokenSelect, onTokenDeSelect and onTokenReSelect (like a double click, but slower). I can implement just about any event you like, but doesn't Maptool already have "onChangeSelection"? All of the above can be done with that event, and I don't want to duplicate work unnecessarily....

Re: Joe's Ugly Hacks 'Drop-in' macro libraries - Event suggestions for v0.2a?

Already got "onMouseClick", "onMouseDown" and "onMouseUp" written, they work great! It won't be released until JUH alpha 2 this coming Sunday though (the 18th). However, if you need something before then I can whip up a quick one-off lib implementing the basic mouse events for you. Is there a right...

Re: MapTool 1.8.4 Released

After you install and run for first time there's usually a popup for public/private networks. If you don't have public checked I think you may have this problem. I don't know where you can change this setting, but if you uninstall, reboot computer and reinstall it should ask you again. Make sure to ...

Re: MapTool 1.8.4 Released

Need more context to this error. Describe the process and other details to get this error. If it's preventing you from opening MT 1.8.4 then it could be language related with special characters in your user profile.

Re: Access to Drop-In Macro Resources?

Ah, I see I moved the wrong thread. I can't grant permissions, but you can't reply to the thread or you can't create a new thread? New threads are only moved by the mods to that forum, so just make a request when needed.

Re: New token dialog in wrong place when using multiple monitors

That seems like normal behavior assuming you're using extending desktop. I think if you were to move the dialog to the second monitor and hold ctrl and click x to close it would save the position. I believe the dialogs can float outside the bounds of the MapTool screen. At least certain ones do.

Re: Joe's Ugly Hacks 'Drop-in' macro libraries - v0.1 [alpha]

I haven't seen any documentation on file sync either. I'm not sure file syncing your asset cache is a good idea, if I understand it correctly. Some of our asset caches have gigs of data and if the client has their own asset cache and a different file sync folder, then you're dumping a lot of data on...

Re: 1.8.4 Bug: return(a, b) evaluates macro.return if set to 1

Interesting. Yeah, probably shouldn't behave like that. One thing I do is try to only use one macro.return in my function and return() is also setting that value. So, if I were to write this code I would do it like this [h: return(errorCondition1, "something specific to this error")] <!-- no errors,...

Re: AD&D (1e or 2e) Framework

One thing you can do is export your original and compare it to my updates. My changes changed I'm guessing about 200 lines in the core and maybe 100 in each of the other libs, so moving your changes to that lib or just go through the process I described before to get the 2 versions merged. If you fe...

Re: AD&D (1e or 2e) Framework

Everything seems to be working with my update including equipment and skills. There are 4 lib tokens that I updated. My basic process to update was to replace all the macro.args with arg(0). Then I did a search for if(getStrProp(arg(0) and replace the arg(0) with myArgs and define myArgs = arg(0). H...

Re: Maptool Database Support

I'm assuming most of those lines are not code and are your db list. What I usually do is put csv db in to a macro, then have a macro build a json array of json objects (column name for keys) and save it to a lib token. I can then access the data pretty easily that way. I know I have some code floati...
