Re: Need help with Marvel Heroic RPG framwork mod

I'm just jumping in quickly to say thank you for everyone who has helped with this project! I'm the guy who wrote the original framework that's being modified (or completely rebuilt), and I have to apologize to the original poster for not having been able to help him myself (I've been neck-deep in d...

Re: how do i save tokens for later use?

You can right click on a token and choose "Save". This will create a .rptok file. As long as you save that file in a directory that you've mapped as a MapTool resource (File - Add Resource to Library if it's not already mapped), you can then just navigate to the folder that holds the token...

Re: Contributed Adventure/Module/Campaign cmpgn Files

I've added a complete campaign file for Madness at Gardmore Abbey (D&D 4e). The blog post with details is here, and the direct download link is here.

Re: Making print-friendly maps

I do use a projector, but I can help you with the resizing. I generally resize maps to a 50 pixel grid, and I wrote up a quick tutorial for doing so. However, if you want to resize the maps to a 1-inch grid you can follow the same logic. Just measure in inches instead of pixels in Paint.NET and make...

Re: Marvel RPG framework from OnlineDM

I think I figured out the problem. I have my MapTool set up so that by default, a roll without any modifier will be displayed as if I had used the r: option (returning just the result). This meant that I accidentally left off the r: option in a bunch of places in the code that generates the Data Fil...

Re: making a pre-drawn map fit

Yes, there is a more rules-based way to do this. My post on it is here . In a nutshell, use a tool like Paint.NET to count the number of pixels across a large number of squares (10 or more). Be careful to include the full grid line on your first square and none of the grid line on your last square (...

Re: Marvel RPG framework from OnlineDM

FYI, the much-improved second draft of my Marvel RPG framework is now up! I learned how to use a custom frame for the Data File (aka character sheet) and learned about macroLink so that players can run everything right out of that frame rather than using the Selection window. So much better! Post ab...

Marvel RPG framework from OnlineDM

While this is still a work in progress, I've created what seems to be a usable (not yet pretty, but usable) MapTool framework for the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Game. Some folks on Twitter requested that I build them something, and Cam Banks (the game's lead designer) was kind enough to provide me wi...

Re: Wolph42's 'Drop-in' Bag of MT Tricks v.8.3 [Group Move]

Ah, got it - thanks for letting me know!

Edit: And now that I know where to look, I was able to fix it myself. It's actually in a macro called mapTeleport rather than interTeleport. I changed three lines, using initForNow instead of init. Works beautifully.

Re: Wolph42's 'Drop-in' Bag of MT Tricks v.8.3 [Group Move]

Cool stuff! I'm really only looking for the map to map teleport functionality, and it looks like I've been able to get it to work. Thank you! One question: My campaign properties have a token property called Init which holds the token's initiative modifier (for the purpose of rolling initiative at t...

Re: Wanna make an elevation macro?

For what it's worth, I use some elevation state images that I found on these boards not too long ago and then created a macro to let me set that elevation on a token. I didn't create different images for flying versus swimming versus burrowing or anything like that, and I also didn't do anything wit...

Images for numeric conditions

This sort of thing has probably been done many times before, but I thought I'd share what I created. I run D&D 4th Edition games using MapTool, and I found the need for a bunch of numeric conditions to represent bonuses or penalties to attack rolls, damage rolls and defenses. I also needed numbe...

Initiative and condition tracking macros for D&D 4e

Since I've seen this topic show up a few times on these boards, I thought people might be interested in seeing my own macros to track conditions for D&D 4th Edition. I put up a detailed series of blog posts that describe some of the more advanced topics I had to learn in order to make this work ...
