Re: Trying to figure out why my pseudo-table macro isn't wor

Although writing the json array and object raw may work, I wouldn't call it a best practice. I would use the functions provide to "build" your objects. The only objects I do raw are the empty objects "{}" and array "[]". Otherwise, even a simple array with 1 item I usu...

Re: Trying to figure out why my pseudo-table macro isn't wor

I haven't read this: m But there are several threads that discuss the use of JSONs and I'm sure you can learn alot there seeing what kind of problems other people have and their solutions. I keep looking at it, but the examples aren't quite as helpful for me as in the branching and looping articles...

Re: Trying to figure out why my pseudo-table macro isn't wor

Thanks...that would have driven me crazy, trying to spot the quote mark in all of that. Does Notepad++ work in Linux? The native text program does line by line code well enough but I can't get it to color code or anything fancier. Not natively, no... So as is later related, you could use a VM to ru...

Re: Dynamically create defineFunction calls

Cool. I was thinking of doing something similar with MacroIO and have the option to build a function define list on another macro (autoUDF) which will be called from onCampaignLoad. That way there's no problem with overwriting other stuff in onCampaignLoad. I was going to make it a part of the impo...

Re: HTML Forms, blank lines in chat

It's expected behavior - a macro is really a complex chat command, so it sends something (in this case, a blank line) whenever one runs. You can fix this by putting an [h:abort(0)] call at the end of the macro that displays the form. However, as you probably know, this will abort all chat output an...

Dynamically create defineFunction calls

Ok, so I am new... and have written some macros on multiple Lib: tokens, and am working on standardizing my code, at least to a degree... As such, I wanted to start making more use of defineFunction . But, where I didn't want to have to go in and write the onCampaignLoad code for each of the macros ...

HTML Forms, blank lines in chat

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if it is expected behavior. I have written a few HTML forms, but whenever they are submitted, there is something being sent to the chat window, and blank line is displayed from whoever clicked the submit, or who they are impersonating. Below is sample code w...

Re: Cewl feat: fully auto create macros on token

Very cool, only, for me, it doesn't work if you have the "playerEditable=0" parameter enabled. With this, I get an error "setMacroProps(): You do not have permission to change player editable status". Is there something else I need to set somewhere for this to work properly? i h...

Re: Frames question

Instead of different frames, you could use a table and simply have three columns. The down side is that you have to render all three of them each time, and include the logic for keeping the default selections equal to what the old values were.... Yeah, kind of what I wanted to avoid. Don't want to ...

Frames question

Ok, I am working on my framework, and want to build a "bookshelf" library for rule data. For this I would like to use a frame populated with a dynamically created drop down list box to select which "book" to look in, such as "Character Classes", "Character Races&qu...

Re: the movement pad

Question, and I apologize if this has been asked already. I had the thought that it would be great to put the code for the trap in the actual token that was the event token. However, the token, in order to allow the macro to be called from another token must be a Lib: token. When naming the event to...

Re: Windows vs. Linux for Maptool

There is no need for Virtualbox on Linux to run MapTools. I use MapTools on Arch and Ubuntu regularly. You just need to change the settings inside the .sh script for your PC's memory settings. There are some windows management issues. i.e. does not automatically set the field to selected on a input...

Windows vs. Linux for Maptool

Ok, so after struggling with some stack overflows on relatively simple macros (only setting some JSON objects), I was getting quite frustrated. Playing with the launch settings, RAM, MinRAM, and StackSize, I finally decided to try 64bit Java, still no luck. My PC is running Vista SP2 64bit on a quad...

Re: Let the GM add a modifier

The macros work very well. They needed some minor modifications, but after some more testing and adding content I am sure they will be a great addition to our current macro set. Therefore I first wanted to thank you for your help with the modifiers. Now to koralas questions: Both possibilities will...
