cant open .Jar files on windows 8.1

so the situation is that two of my friends have Win 8.1, they both DLed Maptools b91.zip and unzipped it with WinRaR. now they are unable to open the program and i'm unable to find a solution. please help? has anyone else have this problem?

so i know i do alot of drawing on maptools, and between adding in objects and adding in the VBL, it gets really boggy. and when i use maptool in GM view, it still takes a long pause between inputs for the program to respond. so is there a way to make it alot smoother and faster? Cool, thanks for inviting people to watch. I presume you meant CDT and EDT since we're currently in daylight saving time, but you might want to just remove the "S" and write those as "CT" and "ET". yesh thats what i meant .....and tonight did NOT go well....twitch tv s...

Fish thank you for the tip! i re-did all my circle VBL and changed them to the cross type. great idea! tonight i'll be testing that out and seeing how it all works.

well i've been trying to add in light effects in the drawing aspect in MTs, but its hard to do in certain areas. i look at other maps being done and its just unreal what people can do in MTs, i'm so jealous :P

Do you have FOW on when you're editing the map? Basically, never have FOW on unless you're running a server. If you want to test FOW then create a 2nd instance and log on as a player and then test that way. If you're using large images for regular tokens, then when rotating could cause a delay unti...
