Re: Mote/MapTool: Thoughts on a DB choice
@JML Still quite busy, so this will have to wait a bit :) Though... Regarding SQL for the framework designer - I'm sure some convenience functions can be created to ease the pain for those not used to SQLese. ...long story made short, we did make convenience functions in MapTool script for the basic...

Re: Mote/MapTool: Thoughts on a DB choice
I have to keep this short for now, sorry. Wait, no. Didn't they chose H2 because it's embedded and Mote needs to be host independent ??? This. We have a branch where we're tooling with iciql, and JaQu, which are friendly with H2, to evaluate performance vs. constructing queries from parameters passe...

Re: [Mote] Tools to make tools
Sorry for the late response. It's been busy. This is a good list. Some are easy to do, while others will have to wait. Without going into detail, implementation will depend on what gets affected in the code. If it's one of the base models, then it gets sent to the backburner, until such time a healt...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
I missed the Kickstarter, and sent you some money via Paypal. You said you'd "only support Java 7", so that people would need only one Java version on their system. That'd actually make it two Java versions: Java 8, and Java 7 for Mote. Given closures, excuse me, "Lambda expressions&...

Re: [b90 (sort off) BUG] repository issue
Hmm. I'll put in a process to deliver both the zip and the index.gz, for convenience.
On a side-note, we've be tested out gzip alternatives, so this (gzip-related issues) may become a moot point when we restructure things dependent on it.

Re: "To long" error
Just passing by for a quick guess. Judging by the error message, you're trying to create a global macro and your OS is Windows, correct? There's a character limit to the registry, where global macros, and other MapTool preferences are stored. You have 2 options: The first is to create the macros els...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
@JML: Groovy is great as a straight shot to Java, having the same syntax, but less formality, making it more concise. It has a lot of nice features to boot. With that being said, it's still relatively easy to learn, but documentation isn't it's strong suit, and hasn't been for quite some time, which...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
Thanks, JML. I haven't waded in much in using the JavaFX' Javascript bridge, but I believe it allows JS to directly call Java methods, and Java to call JS functions in return. In principle, all the Java code for maptool script functions can be called without having to pass through the old parser, so...

Re: Vague issue with b90 causing semi-frequent MapTool crash
Are you using the patch Lee created? Someone needs to compile and share it. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean, know what I mean) @Tyshalle: I came across this before. It's a good thing you reported this as I completely forgot about it. Somehow, (some, if not all of) your campaign fi...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
Thanks everyone, we're seriously pumped for April to start :) @JML: Yes, summer is where we want things to pick-up, when we deliver Mote to supporters expecting it in June. The interface changes promised in the 2nd stretch goal will come a little later, however, as there are a lot of areas that need...

Thank you guys. We're just getting started
@Full Bleed: Yeah, we were advised to roll it out as funding drove up since we were relatively unknown working on an application that most people already know is free. Perhaps on the next run, we can be more upfront.

Thanks RPTroll, I'm sorry to have missed your post! We already have one of those 3 in place, and look forward to writing the other 2.RPTroll wrote: I like the ideas of cloud storage, embedded DBs, and Web Service. Good stuff.
That was a great interview you had by the way, and nice background!

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
@Jagged, Oschiefloyd, and booga: thanks guys, I know you all went above and beyond for this; expect the same effort on our end! We'd like to ask users who have had issues with Unicode to share relevant parts of their work for testing the fix we made in Mote. There are many use cases, and we're certa...

Re: Token State Limitations
These things will have locks in Mote. We named it limited ownership and it's a set of granular, server preferences that controls which aspects of tokens, owners can access. Look forward to it in the future
