Re: Attention: Windows Users using JAVA 7 with MapTool

I get an error saying "unable to access jarfile maptool-*.jar" That does sound like your Java 7 is messing with your machine. That seems to have happened to other users before, who were using the correct settings to run MT with Java 6, while still having Java 7 on their PC. Maybe uninstal...

Re: [Survey] If we found signs of alien life...

I think that Aliasmask did imply that, else I am increasingly confused. But the Vermi something from the vid Woplph posted does intrigue me. That if FTL travel was possible and if there were other intelligent lifeforms at all we would have been contacted already. I'd feel pretty lonely if that were ...

Re: [Survey] If we found signs of alien life...

Even if we could reach the closest star in a generation (ship time) it would appear to be multiple generations here on Earth. This brings up a whole new question: Is it responsible to send people away like that? To cut them off from their home society for ever? I don't remember any Earth explorers ...

Wolph, just wanted to join the many who have praised the BoT before - it is impressive work, looks good and is VERY useful!

Re: Resizing a Hex grid map

I use the mentioned MapScaleTool as well. And it should probably work with hex maps the exact same way, since hexes also have a 1:1 width:height ratio. To count pixels on an image, you do NOT have to count each pixel yourself. If you use e.g. IrfanView, you can just select an area on the image by ru...

A) What the most basic case of string duplication? Language is set for Deutsch. Is this the same for the unaffected clients? most basic string the causes the repeated output of "b": a [1] b [1] Language was set to "Deutsch" on all participating clients, even the unaffected ones....

Re: [Survey] If we found signs of alien life...

I think most alien races would view our multiple languages, national borders and racism (perhaps sexism also) as ludicrously primitive traditions which should be thrown aside if any chance of diplomacy is to be taken seriously, regardless of technology level. I don't think so. I think any other tru...

He did that (uninstalled everything Java he had, rebooted, installed the most up-to-date Java 7). No difference. :-(

Re: MapTool Dev Build (testing, version 0.95) - Jan. 28, 201

I suggest he uninstall his version of Java, reboot, then reinstall it. The only way I can think of that the "b" would be duplicated would be a corrupted version of the Java libraries and/or MT's parser library. And I suspect Java first. I don't think a corrupted Java library is the proble...

Re: MapTool Dev Build (testing, version 0.95) - Jan. 28, 201

Hi again! Today's gaming session we played online with the dev build. I got a player of mine to agree to test in detail with his Linux system, I will report on that when we actually did that in detail. Everything went fine today and as expected on my end, and for most players, but not for all, unfor...

From some of the reading I've done on the various items it seems that it matters what browser you are using.. Are you aware that you can download MapTool so you can use it without involving a browser or the internet? You will find the download link to the last official version (1.3.b87) in the &quo...

Re: [Map] Dwimmermount levels 0 to 8

This is really a nice collection of maps! I love it, I will definitely use this in a couple of adventures! And I will definitely use the BoT with this, great idea to make it compatible like that. Plus, I also am very curious about that module now.

- also its not only this forest, I've had other maps quite large (150x100 cells) with square rooms only, and there the lag also kicked in after some time or even immediately if I had 4 clients attached yup, here too. Even on maps not that big and with very limited VBL. 4 clients are minumum in the ...

Re: MapTool Dev Build (testing, version 0.9) - Jan. 22, 2012

About the conical light footprint (I did unpack the new dev build into a new folder): It adjusts correctly to grid offset and token movement. Not to changing size of the token though, but IIRC that wasn't implemented. I found the issue with the odd size of it!: Apparently the size of the footprint i...
