Re: darn it's ugly

I'm currently trying to populate 350 monster tokens using data from http://www.dnd5eapi.co/ I heavily steal the work provided in this forum on 5e frameworks. It's quite overwhelming but I slowly start to get things done. I'm using python to generate the token files, because I know crud about Java. ...

Re: WotC license for Fantasy Grounds

I'd expect the MM to have all of the Monster data. But the "Core Class Pack" probably only has part of the Player's Handbook. They make an effort to add it all in, actually. Here's a screenshot of the PHB reference in FG2. http://tarsis.org/me/fg2-phb.png The real gold is in the adventure...

Re: A Pathfinder Hero Lab to Maptool converter

Yeah, ideal would be from within Maptool itself. For multiple characters(and minions, they get their own XML block with characters inside that), you'd probably have to write a specific HL importer that parses the por(zip) and pulls out the character list from the XML(which is all over the place). Th...

Re: A Pathfinder Hero Lab to Maptool converter

Yeah, the app was made with a batch workflow mindset. For myself I renamed all the Hero Lab stock files over to por and I'd batch convert them all. So something like 3000+ entries at once. If I was working on a smaller subset I'd just work with different directories and import/export config files. F...

Re: A Pathfinder Hero Lab to Maptool converter

I'm using AMD64. I got PIL from the Debian python-pil package. Using pillow is fine, I only went with PIL because it's easy to install on Windows and I was making binaries for every platform.

Re: A Pathfinder Hero Lab to Maptool converter

Nice, thanks. I've got a dev environment properly set up now, I think. aboutDialog.ui and htmlDialog.ui needed to be run through pyuuic4 to create the .py versions for import. It looks like the source distribution is missing ui/macrosDialog ...? At any rate, Python claims it can't import macrosDial...

Re: A Pathfinder Hero Lab to Maptool converter

You're correct, that bit of code is what gets the image file, shrinks it(thumbnail function) and then re-outputs to PNG. The primary reason for the shrinking is because hl2mt is designed to work on large sets of tokens where you can just throw together some Hero Lab files, token images and portrait ...

Re: Mote/MapTool: Thoughts on a DB choice

I guess my question would be "what would be better"? Personally I think SQL is much easier than working with JSON as that gets pretty complex when you start to mess with multiple levels. If you go with anything else for data storage you're getting into Not Invented Here syndrome and 2 year...

Re: [Mote] Tools to make tools

What's bothering me is I have old memories of SQL data bases being quite heavy to maintain and to evolve, and I'm afraid this could get a bit too much for non IT professionals. I've got the feeling that people usually build their frameworks in an iterative manner. To which extent could this become ...

Re: [Mote] Tools to make tools

How about allowing the map to be specified for getTokens()? Right now I'm having to do map switching to grab all the token IDs off another map. Unless there's some other way do this I'm missing out on. Would it be possible to eliminate the 2 block depth restriction for CODE? That one annoys the piss...

Re: Fate Core/Accelerated

The mob utility isn't supposed to change the token so skill rolls auto-add teamwork pluses to the skill roll. All it really does is take a token's stress tracks and sort of mobs it out. So if you had a token with 3 physical stress you could mob into three guys and get: Dead Mooks: 2 boxes Guy 1: 3 b...

Re: Fate Core/Accelerated

That framework isn't mine. Mine should be called Fate_Core.cmpgn. Fate_b76_095.cmpgn is the Fate v3 framework that's been on the forums for awhile. Specifically it should look like the below when you start it up. http://www.tarsis.org/images/fate_core2.png Notice that the title window says Fate_Core.

Re: Fate Core/Accelerated

Basic usage if you're not into watching the videos. Everything works from the campaign panel. There are GM options and player options, though the players can pretty much do everything from the character sheet(F2). http://www.tarsis.org/images/campaign_actions.png From the GM standpoint, you first wa...

Some sample screen shots. http://tarsis.org/images/fate_sheet.png http://www.tarsis.org/images/aspects.png Example character sheet using custom skills and stress track. In this case rather than using physical/mental tracks I added a custom track called Stress. This token was a fire that the PCs were...
