Re: Custom gaming table ideas

I considered the whole gaming table idea as well. Then I moved on to a projector and screen with virtual minis and the smoothboard IR pen. The latter was too cumbersome, and a simple keyboard and mouse was much better. I already had a theater, so I just converted it to accommodate a Maptool game: ht...

Re: Token import 3.5E imarvin

Apparently this is a new problem. I used to be able to click on the token and it would download the .rptok file. It will still work but you have to right click on the token and "Save Link As" (I'm using Chrome). It will want to save it as a .htm. Change it to a .rptok. It will download and...

Re: Thanks for the help

It gets the job done. But, a 32-60" TV would work out as well. I have a 32" LCD TV that I use as a 2nd monitor for my main desktop PC. When I was having AC problems in the theater room I was planning on running a similar setup, but with the 32" TV as the main display. Right now, I'm p...

Thanks for the help

Thanks again to aliasmask for helping me out. Ran my game this evening without any Maptool problems. Had some unrelated transient networking problems, but fixed those. One of my local players ran a Maptool client and really liked it, even though we had a big screen right in front. Here's a pic of ou...

You're a life saver, thanks! I had assumed that it might be a Java 7 issue, but making Java 7 inactive didn't fix it. The instructions for editing the mt.cfg file did the trick. Thanks again!!!

BIG Java error - need serious help for game tomorrow!

I created a campaign on one computer, copied it to another computer to play on and to act as a server. Now I've copied that same file back to the first computer to work on it again and when I open it I get this Java error. Need some serious help: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method...

Re: Contributed Adventure/Module/Campaign cmpgn Files

Well, I started running chapter one of Shackled City. I've got the Alley, Ghelve's Locks and Jzadirune completed. Will be working on the Malachite Fortress next. I'll post it once chapter one is all done. BTW, this is using the latest b87 DND3.5 campaign framework.

Re: MT1.3b86.03 Campaign Framework (LATEST VERSION)

With most frameworks you do not manipulate the token properties directly by hand. There are macros that update all of those properties. If you need help, send me a email at neofax99 <AT> gmail dot com and we can jump on ventrilo and I can start a server and walk you through whatever you need/want t...

Copying the timer to a new campaign

I'm wanting to run The Shackled City (SCAP) and downloaded the files from the gallery. They look great. Don't know what framework they're using, but there are some simple macros built in. But no timer (ie: the timer from the most current DnD 3.5/PF framework). I tried copying the map containing the ...

Re: Ran my first game

Wow, nice "man cave"! I tried using a projector onto a screen but found that most of my technophile players were willing and able to bring laptops to the game, so we switched to those. There's one nice advantage to that approach: it allows for Individual Views and Individual Fog. And boy,...

Re: Contributed Adventure/Module/Campaign cmpgn Files

Has anyone revisited Shackled City for 3.5? I recently bought the module and was planning on using the files posted here to run it in Maptools. But, the first two simply don't load in b87. I've found various other files scattered around the net. I found some PDFs on theRPGenius, along with monster l...

Re: Ran my first game

Thanks for the reply. I was just using whatever Pathfinder framework was built into Forstor Nagar. I'll look into other frameworks and macro programming for when I build my own campaigns. Here's a peek at my setup: . https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-0ggNxlnrEqo/T2aqyV6wmuI/AAAAAAAAKqg/k1DGYgaj7es/...

Ran my first game

Success! I ran my first game this evening using Maptool. It was excellent! I had two players and myself. We were in one room, two computers. My GM computer and their PC computer with the latter hooked to the projector, projecting onto a 110 inch theater screen. I gave them a quick tutorial on moveme...

Re: New to Maptools, with some questions

Thanks for the quick reply. Strict token ownership did the trick. As far as some of the other things, I figured out some: The issue with player characters being hidden when moving to different maps had something to do with the way vision blocking was behaving. On the Section 6 map, I had to open a v...

New to Maptools, with some questions

I'm brand new here, although I've been gaming since the early 80s. I used to frequent DMGenie before it went away. I'm glad to see some familiar faces here. Anyway, I'm taking up the DM mantle again (I'm usually a player), and I discovered MapTools, and I'm VERY impressed. I wanted to run a quick ca...
