Re: Cannot run *Tools with Ubuntu. Help?

Terminal told me I needed to apt-get any of a number of packages with java in it. I installed default-jre.jar the way it prompted me to, and then I ran your command. I'm looking at a running version of maptools. You're awesome. ...I will probably be talking to you many, many more times in the futur...

Re: Cannot run *Tools with Ubuntu. Help?

Are you comfortable using a terminal? If so then try running the following command from the same folder as "maptool-1.3.b91.jar". (Make sure to type the exact name of the file that you are actually using. Note that Linux is case sensitive.)

Code: Select all

java -jar maptool-1.3.b91.jar

Re: FREQ: setMapVisible() and renameMap()

Hey! I intend to start work on these features. For starters I'm going to focus on the renaming aspect of it. Is there a specific reason as to why you want a macro function to rename the map? Would it be better to instead focus on improving the workflow of map renaming? For example you mention in a p...

Do you want it to turn snap to grid on and off for the entire map/campaign or just for a single token?

Re: CHANGE/FIX: token facing

I finally figured out how it should be done using modulo. :D

Code: Select all

public void setFacingInDegrees(float facing) {
      facing %= 360;
      if (facing < 0) {
         facing += 360;
      }
      this.facing = facing;
}

I've also made a new pull request. Please have a look at Github.

Re: FEATURE: setSnapToGrid

Duplicate thread: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=25828 Perhaps one of the nice Mods will merge this for us? Regarding the Parse Handler, this will be difficult to test at the moment because it appears as though ParserExceptions are not being handled by the Line Parser at the mom...

FEATURE: setSnapToGrid

This is what I have so far: /* Sets whether the token should snap to the grid or not*/ if (functionName.equals("setTokenSnapToGrid")) { checkNumberOfParameters(functionName, parameters, 1, 2); Object param = parameters.get(0); String snapToGridString; if (param instanceof String) { snapToG...

Re: Campaign Map not displaying for some players

Could you post your campaign file together with a list of the maps that give them problems? I would love to take a look at it. Sorry for the delay in replying. For some reason I only got the initial reply notice in email. :-/ Anyway, here's a low-rez version of one of the maps I used, two somewhat ...

#12 Could be meaty.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll snag 15.11 (setSnapToGrid() function).

Re: 1.4 Functional Direction and Assignments

I'm at somewhat at a loss as for what I should focus on now. Is there anything in particular people would like me to take a look at?

I would love to get some physics into the game so that for example tokens can't be moved through walls, but it seems like a somewhat overwhelming task at the moment.

Re: CHANGE/FIX: token facing

I went and had a look at the current code in the master branch. If a token does not have a facing then getFacing will return null. The macro function getTokenFacing interprets this has having no facing and will return the empty string "". I have updated my tokenfacing branch to include the...

Re: CHANGE/FIX: token facing

Ok, I have updated the branch. For the time being I'm just calling the new macro getTrueTokenFacing. Not really happy with that name though, any suggestions? Since "Facing" may mean what ever it meant before (assume someone at sometime had a reason to go -180 to 180). And since degree's i...

Perhaps, but for input -90 it will output 90 instead of 270.

I'd also be inclined to use the mod function facing = Math.abs(facing + 180 % 360) Yeah, using modulo was my first instinct as well. Unfortuna...
