Re: Can the Maptool UI Scale to fit a 4K monitor?

Okay... naturally I already inspected the options in the Launcher. There are four tabs. The basic tab has nothing about resolution or java UI stuff... the language tab is exclusively about languages... the advanced tab lets you choose a logging type, set relative pathnames, and launch with console (...

Re: Can the Maptool UI Scale to fit a 4K monitor?

Some progress - though I don't yet have a readable UI. I checked my installed version of Java and it wasn't 64 bit, which I rectified. I had an unsurprising memory crisis during my night's game, although it hadn't turned up during testing, so I had to find a launcher that worked in a hurry. Luckily,...

Re: Can the Maptool UI Scale to fit a 4K monitor?

If you are using the Dev version or my fork, the manifest is built in and there is an option in the Launcher to make the registry change for you. I feel like trying the dev version would be the clearest way to attempt this - however, it sounds like it involves the Launcher, and one thing about my c...

Thanks - apologies for asking a question that's already been answered. I searched for "4K monitor" and the like, but gave up pretty fast.

Can the Maptool UI Scale to fit a 4K monitor?

I'd like to use Maptool at high resolution, but the UI doesn't scale like most Windows apps. I'm using Windows 10. Googling around, I see that this is a common problem: https://superuser.com/questions/988379/how-do-i-run-java-apps-upscaled-on-a-high-dpi-display It sounds like certain Java apps can b...

Can I embed hidden external links in my maps?

Hi! I'm putting my entire adventure onto a Wiki, so my dungeon rooms and encounters will have individual web pages containing their descriptions. Is there a way that I can embed links to these web pages in my map? Some sort of tokens or objects in the Hidden layer, that I could click to open the web...

Re: How do I undo dynamic lighting exposure?

Thanks! Starting the server appears to have gotten me out of the woods. Too bad about the dynamic lighting. I can understand that that's a tough thing to program though, so if an open source, do-anything tool like MapTool has some issues, I'm happy to just use manual reveal. Thanks again!

How do I undo dynamic lighting exposure?

I'm getting a little infuriated with the dynamic lighting. I used the Expose > Visible Area command to see how it would work on a map, but decided that it revealed too much, and that I'd rather just use the manual fog exposure tools. However, now I can't seem to make the exposure go away, at least o...

Re: Can't seem to create combatants/groups on OSX

I launched the JAR file from a shell so I could capture some console output. When I launch the tool, the first time I try to add combatants (using either the menu option or the button on the toolbar), I get the following Exception: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.Exception...

Can't seem to create combatants/groups on OSX

It's been a while since I used InitTool, and the last time I did was on Windows. I can't seem to get it to do anything on my Macbook. On OSX 10.10.5, I'm launching initiativetool-1.1.b9.jar. The UI loads up just fine. When I click File > New > Combatants... , nothing happens. If I click the green bu...
