Re: Is it possible to use and change Properties in a Macro without using their Property Name in the Macro?

It's the unbalanced apostrophe. You have a line [r:token.name]'s [r:TargetLimb] recovered [r:LimbSTChange] ST. The parser sees the apostrophe and thinks you're starting a quote. It never finds an apostrophe to close the quote -- but you do have one on the damage-taking part of the macro. It's basica...

Re: Mini Macro Challenges (Interest)

For two numbers a > b , the following algorithm should work: Define r = mod( a , b ). Maptool doesn't seem to have a mod function, but nevermind. If r = 0, then the greatest common factor is b . Else a = b and b = r ; return to step 1. So I get this UDF -- call it getGCF: [H: x1 = arg(0)] [H: x2 = a...

Re: Token ID Bug strikes back

I think these tokens were from October or so, in whatever the current version was back then. I noticed on doing the fix that the new id started with 3something rather than 0000 so the bug may indeed have been squashed between making tokens and using them, which would be welcome! Also, thanks for the...

Re: Token ID Bug strikes back

I have a possible fix. Coding style is probably atrocious. [H: "<!-- Get the json array of token IDs --!>"] [H: IDList = getTokens("json",'{layer:["TOKEN","GM","OBJECT","BACKGROUND"]}')] [H: "<!-- Remove the good IDs from the json array --!>"] [H: BadIDList = IDList] [H, ForEach(ID,IDList), Code: { ...

Token ID Bug strikes back

So I've run into a problem with the dreaded token ID bug that I'd never run across before. Generally the bag of tricks fix sorts this. As a reminder, basically it works as follows: Generate a list of all token IDs For each ID, if the ID is not 32 characters long, assume the ID should be padded to th...

Re: [FREQ] Static Token ID's.

In case no one's mentioned this, Merudo , good practice seems to be first starting the server, then loading the campaign. Thus, suppose I have a campaign and the token "Bob" has ID "B0B": If I first load the campaign, then start a server with the campaign loaded, Bob's ID changes. If I first start t...

Re: Weird connection issue

Importantly, we're using 1.4.1.8 so it should be the bundled JRE. At the time I had two other players connected without problems, fwiw. Experimentation continues! Edit to add: connection went off without a hitch using the same computers on both his end and mine, but connecting from his workplace rat...

hasMacro and Library Tokens

For several years I've had a set of macros for casting and tracking spells. Part of that functionality is actually "casting" the spell so if, for example, someone casts fireball there's a "Fireball" macro on a library token creatively called "Lib:Spells" which rolls damage, calculates the save DC, w...

Re: MapTool 1.4.1.8 Adjust Grid Error Message

Thanks all! About half of my job is scientific programming, and about 90% of that is tracking down my own bugs. I'd love to be able to help in Maptool development, but all my programming experience is Fortran (and maptool script) and so not too useful for... well, much anything, really! One small bu...

Re: MapTool 1.4.1.8 Adjust Grid Error Message

Further testing provides a minimal example: Start with a completely new campaign file. Put something on the token layer. Adjust Grid: everything works. Execute the following macro: [Dialog("Hello World"): {Hello World}] Adjust Grid: the error message appears. Using a frame instead of a dialog gives ...

MapTool 1.4.1.8 Adjust Grid Error Message

I'm using the 64-bit version of 1.4.1.8 and have just run into something weird: with my campaign loaded, if I use the Adjust Grid command -- and even if I close the window without doing anything -- I get a rather lengthy error message: java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.LinkedList cannot be cas...
