Re: Roll20 VTT - web based
Yes, i agree Roll20 is different and probably better only to a specific variety of players. The way i see it, Maptools is the Linux of VTTs while Roll20 would be Windows. "Some people have spent months or years of man time outside the game to built macro functionality" Sounds a whole lot o...

Re: Roll20 VTT - web based
Playing an RPG doesn't require much besides a bunch of people with their sheets on hand and readily available snacks. Thats what Roll 20 is for It is simple and easy to use, it is all about accessibility first and foremost. Best Features: 1) It is completely browser based, you can play on any platfo...

Re: Passive stealth and "True" blindness
Hmm, well when i used the player view to see what the character would be seeing after having its sight taken off, or its light source lowered to .5, the map was still visible even if the enemies were not. Maybe if i were a player connected to the server the map would go all black? The thing is that ...

Re: Passive stealth and "True" blindness
oh yeah, i did manage to do that eventually, so the whole "pitch black" thing is a no then? maybe there could be a way to add a colored overlay around the character that would block his sight (possibily even colored black) If that could be done i wonder if there would be a way to add an in...

Passive stealth and "True" blindness
Hey guys, i had an idea that i am curious to know if it was already done by someone or if it can be done in the current tools. Basically, i am very concerned about the correct usage of stealth and sight with the RPtools, mostly its a concern for 4e but on other systems its probably even more complic...

Re: User created System Packs for RPTools
Yeah, im really sorry if i am kinda stating the obvious here you guys are probably way ahead of me. I saw some great stuff floating around the user creation sections such as: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12364 that i got a little carried away thinking about the possibilities whe...

Re: Legality of a True 4E Char Builder?
well some stuff can't be free
the free option would be a "configurator" that would require the input of all the "classified" information
but the Automated option would require a D&Di subscription
both are interesting

Re: User created System Packs for RPTools
Well, "where there is a will there is a way" i think. I understand i am new to all this and just found out about the frameworks, they are pretty much what a system pack would be, even if every information would have to be inputted by the user or acquired from somewhere else such as with so...

Re: Legality of a True 4E Char Builder?
I believe that if you make it so that it only works by using information made availabe with the D&D Insider, WotC would thank you for it and allow it to be. there are currently some stuff in the user creations that work like that and all sorts of Apps made for 4e can be found browsing through th...

User created System Packs for RPTools
Hey guys, i have been interested in RPTools for a long time but the amount of work necessary to put it to good use is more than i think i can handle, despite that, i have taken a look at some user created things and realized most of the work has been done by someone somewhere at some point, so it wo...

LCD Monitor and Touchpads as Battlemat
I am considering buying an LCD monitor to use the virtual tabletop in my house sessions (and for personal use as well of course). My plan is to craft a table that i may fit the LCD screen underneath (and have a glass cover for protection), so it would be possible to use touch pad pens to move charac...

2 Players new to RPtools would like someone help learning it
Hey guys, me and my friend just found out about RPtools and we are very excited about it but we would like some help learning how to play D&D 4e game with these tools, someone experience could make this go a lot easier. We are currently trying out things at the server: 201.80.173.212 port 6900 O...
