Re: CleanProperties: A tool to selectively mass delete token properties

+1

Agreed! I'm grabbing this right now as well.

And while the "desired properties" feature will suffice, I think having a list of "unapproved properties" (meaning those not in the token's current Property Type) would be a big benefit.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Rod's D&D 5e Framework

The #general-dev is the perfect place. :) We have another Discord server we use for management things (like web site issues and such). But the Discord channel that you all know and love is probably the best place if you need instant feedback, and the forum is better for long-term storage and a broad...

are you buttering him up to ask him to do a UI redesign of MT  (cause it surely could use one :D )
No, no, I would never put someone on the spot like that. I just wanted to give him every opportunity to volunteer. :D

Re: Rod's D&D 5e Framework

Hey, that's impressive! I read your Discord message that you have some design background and wanted it to show in your framework — it certainly does! This is very nicely put together, with great looking HTML panels (that by itself is a big accomplishment!), consistently sized buttons, a nicely color...

Re: Announcement: MapTool 1.5.6 Released

I'm not sure why you aren't getting this but these audio functions are strictly local playback. Maybe it would help to think of it like an app on your phone that can play local media, or if you give it a URL, it can download it and play it. (VLC is like this, although it'll start playing immediatel...

Re: Announcement: MapTool 1.5.6 Released

Lastly (and unrelated to the above), has there been any discussion about having object based sound with proximity volume? I suspect that it would be similar to light sources and might even incorporate "hearing" types much like vision types (i.e. a deaf/silenced player wouldn't heard anything from a...

Re: MapTool 1.5.5 Release Candidate 2 Available

That looks like a video driver issue, not a problem with MT. Try turning off all video acceleration options in your video driver and I’ll bet that corrects it. If it does, you just need a video driver update.

Re: [1.5.4-rc.1] Optionally Expose FOW into VBL areas

One thing that we had talked about previously (that might still be the way to go) is "one way VBL" where the thickness of the VBL is the amount of the underlying map that can be seen. For example, imagine that you draw some VBL that is 5 pixels thick. Now think of the VBL as a hollow rectangle that ...

Re: MapTool 1.5.4 Release Candidate 1 Available

I'm with FB. You've really been exposing yourself (in a good way, I promise!) to the folks on Discord and elsewhere. And your testing of the new macro functions, wiki updates, and much more, have been very helpful!

Thanks!

Re: MapTool 1.5.3-rc3 Available for Testing

No specific issue detected, but I have a sample campaign where it's repeatable and I've got a debug session open with the code stopped... it got paused when other things jumped ahead of it in the queue. But it should be back at the top once I get the smoke alarms replaced like the wife wants. :D

Re: MapTool 1.5.3-rc3 Available for Testing

Yep, looks like I was. :|

Okay, so there's #198 to look at, and I want to correct the setInitiative() so that it doesn't send a message to chat when there's a problem, but reports the issue as the return value. I've also got the getTokens() performance thing sitting in Eclipse right now. (Ugh.)

Re: Maxium length for a string?

Just be aware that when you move a token on the map, the entire token is sent to all clients for every movement you make. So if you grab a token and start dragging it around from cell to cell to cell, every one of those movements causes the token to be resent. (No, it's not efficient. It worked this...

Re: Announcement: MapTool 1.5.2 Released

At the very least, we need a map with tokens and a bare bones macro that demonstrates the issue . Preferably exported from 1.4.0.5 that can then be tested against that, 1.4.1.8, NERPS 1.4.5.4 and 1.5.0. [...] Same campaign file directly from 1.4.0.5 to 1.5.2. Perhaps you forgot to attach the campai...

Re: Announcement: MapTool 1.5.2 Released

I don't see that there's anything we can do without a sample campaign file or those timestamped logs, at a minimum. I've looked at the history of that source file and nothing jumps out at me as being a slowdown. Ideally, an issue would be filed on GitHub so that I'm not the only one to review the re...

Re: Announcement: MapTool 1.5.2 Released

It does this using the getTokens using an area offset json object and conditions json object. In 1.4.0.5 each step took about half a second. In 1.5+ it take 2-3 seconds a step. It's painful. Was there some change in 1.5 that would create that kind of slow down when using getTokens()? Hm, not that c...
