Re: MapTool 1.8.3 Released [ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS WILL STOP WORKING!!]
Yeah, fortunately, the days of 1 and 2G 32 bit systems are of the past... and 8G+ systems seem to be more the norm leaving plenty for both the system and the most demanding MT frameworks. But the java memory voodoo has always been a bit of a bother. And MT now generates more threads than it used to...

Re: MapTool 1.8.3 Released [ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS WILL STOP WORKING!!]
Seems like this info should be posted more prominently somewhere on the main RPtools website or here as it's still an on-going issue in 1.8.5. Done. Check out the updated wiki page and see what you think. I basically copied Phergus' notes from Discord and cleaned them up a bit for wiki formatting. ...

Re: New token dialog in wrong place when using multiple monitors
(Best place for bug reports is GitHub.com/RPTools/maptool/issues since not everyone visits the forum and other contributors might want to work on/fix the bug you're reporting.) So, what's the best approach. The first time a dialog opens it uses the monitor that the main applicant window is on, but i...

Re: RPTools Links
Since the thread is called "links" (plural), it seems like maybe we should have more than one? Here are a few others that folks might find useful: GitHub source code repository for MapTool Download for latest release GitHub source code repository for TokenTool Download for latest release Wiki for RP...

Re: MapTool 1.8.3 Released [ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS WILL STOP WORKING!!]
So I've tried multiple cloud sharing applications now and they are all giving me an error. Well, I guess the last option then is to post the link here and let the community help figure out what's going wrong. (Note that some cloud storage sites require the URL to change, such as DropBox requires th...

Re: MapTool 1.8.3 Released [ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS WILL STOP WORKING!!]
No, not that I’ve seen reported. I presume the same URL still works in a web browser? (Although web browsers are more than just utilities to fetch web content...) yeah it still leads to the same place on the web. It's weird. It's probably because of a redirect. As I said, the browser does a lot of ...

Re: MapTool 1.8.3 Released [ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS WILL STOP WORKING!!]
I presume you've already seen the discussion of this that Phergus posted on the Discord server. I'll recap it here for anyone not on Discord: Startup Config for MT 1.8.3 Locate the maptool.cfg file under the app folder in your MapTool install directory. You can find the directory name by looking at ...

Re: MapTool 1.8.0 Beta 2 Released
I checked and the file jli.dll is where it is supposed to be… TL;DR. Strange. Any accented characters in the username or anywhere else in the path? How about the "!" character? Since this is a new install, I imagine that there's no existing maptool.cfg , so it can't be that the CLASSPATH is set wro...

Re: MapTool 1.8.0 Beta 2 Released
i was wondering if someone could explain how these massive speed improvement where achieved and if its for ALL macros or just ones pertaining to particular functionality (VBL, movement, etc, etc). Check out the discussion in the original issues filed against this: https://github.com/RPTools/maptool...

Re: Survey covering potential features for the future of MapTool
I agree! All of the credit goes to JamzTheMan ! Well, I might not go quite *that* far... ;) I didn't mean to imply that he was personally responsible for each and every feature, but that the renewed energy for the project was his doing. His excitement — combined with his fingers! — really moved thi...

Re: Survey covering potential features for the future of MapTool
I appreciate the initiative in putting out a survey to get community input. Thanks. Are the results going to be made public? Craig is running the survey, but I believe that's the plan. You'd have to ask him, though. ;) And while I'm looking forward to seeing what a MT 2.0 brings (and I hope it ends...

Survey covering potential features for the future of MapTool
Hey all. Craig put up a SurveyMonkey survey of 10 questions to gauge which features users think are the most important for MapTool. When filling it out, you can go back and change previous answers, so don't hesitate if you need to do that! And note that the last question has an "Other" category wher...
Re: Overlays.
I can middle mouse click and open it into a browser window with my current Firefox settings so that's cool. Too bad we can't put svgs inline... seems like that might be a phpBB limitation. I don't want to derail the overlay discussion, but... SVGs can contain script elements, so allowing users to u...
