Re: MapTool on Pi 4 (64 bit) success! But it's kinda slow
I'm open to ideas on how to speed it up. Use an actual PC? Not trying to be an butt here, but most PI's just don't have enough ram in them. Consider that these devices are intended for light weight applications and a MapTool server is anything but a lightweight application. With that said, are you ...

Re: Does a maptoolbox makes sense?
While there is a goal to make things more interoperable, it's still going to be LARGELY on the original authors to ensure they don't do stupid stuff. For example, John makes a spell system with a property named level and Bill makes an elevation system with a property named level...BOOM stuff don't w...

Re: Tweak statsheet background/font sizes
No, its hard coded in the source. Tje best you can do is build your own frame using macros and turn the stat sheet off.

Re: Open sourcing DiceTool?
FYI, I am in the process of building Dicetool with JavaFX. The hold up is the java version of JavaFX and the build process.... IN theory that is going to be resolved by Java 14 in which case I will work with the other devs to figure out a build process for DiceTool, check that in and create a build....

Re: Audio Streaming Capabilties
I have not tried it but it seems fairly easy. There are two critical things to know: 1) No sound is saved or transmitted in the campaign file(and likely never will be due to copyright concerns). If you want someone on a remote machine(typically when playing with people on the internet), then you mus...

Re: Discuss feature request - I want a third type - PC/NPC/*TEAM*
There have been some discussions about this for years around various features(some I understand and some I don't). One such request has to do with wanting to make NPC's(allies???) but not call them PC's and so some of the various vision related thinks that are locked to PC's for performance reasons ...

Re: Vision only lets me see 10' no matter what my settings are.
For some reason in the LMoP campaign, in the Map Properties, Vision Distance was set to 12. Some people use squares since that's actually how much you move, or see, or whatever on a grid.... I really don't know why so many people get freaked out when D&D 4e converted from "you move x feet,...

Re: [1.5.6] Won't Start
Good hint, Phergus! The log tells me that in trying AppUpdate it cant't reach api.github.com. Manually accessing the adress works fine, though. Then you have on your machine, your network(ie, router), or your ISP, something that is blocking access. Typically this is "helpful" security sof...

Re: My First Macro! Next Step help, please
Library tokens should be for things that apply to multiple tokens. One example would be "sleep"(as a generic term) that changes and updates multiple pc tokens in its code at once vs each player having to have their own "sleep" macro. They are also good for stopping common things...

Re: [1.5.4-rc.1] Optionally Expose FOW into VBL areas
I also don't have a ton of time to prep, and using premade maps I can block out the VBL on is a huge timesaver to me personally. I don't know how the VBL/Sight/FoW is calculated, but if the shape of the VBL is currently subtracted from the shape of the sight before exposing FoW then this new VBL (t...

Re: [1.5.4-rc.1] Optionally Expose FOW into VBL areas
This pretty much encapsulates how I feel about the situation. In "my" opinion, it's the GM's responsibility to "set the stage", not the maps(I hope thats the point FB is trying to get across). For me, the walls are things that block movement in the game, not things that are like...
