Re: [Discuss] Custom Fonts in Frameworks

I would get annoyed if a Framework required a specific font. Go ahead and specify it in the CSS, but you should have a backup plan in case your favorite font is not available on someone else's system (just like it is for webpages). Go ahead and recommend a specific (free, cross-platform) font for ae...

Re: Regarding Lib token organization and execution speed

So, having a lot of macros on a Lib token shouldn't be a problem, as long as that Lib token never gets clicked on, has its Properties referenced, or moves? Someone correct me if I am wrong, but: My understanding is that the lag is only an issue if the token changes i.e. is moved (position change) o...

Re: Macro error

I think what causes the error is that the first argument of an if function is expected to be a logical value (i.e. something that evaluates to 1 or 0, which are integer numbers). In practice, any number other than zero is evaluated as 'true' (1), and 0 is always false (0). I can't remember how negat...

Re: Foreach problem looping one too many times

Where does 'ClassInfo' get its value from? Could there be an error in the JSON syntax creating the illusion of another, empty object key? I just tested the code you posted, feeding the values you posted and got no errors (other than undefined variables page, lvl, and classviewed at the end), so I'm ...

Re: User created System Packs for RPTools

Random Thoughts: Having used PC-Gen, the idea of loading a "system pack" seemed like a great idea, except when I wanted to tweak something in the system (I'm a big fan of homebrew rules and I have yet to see a software package to handles RPG information just the way I like). I fell in lov...

Re: User Interface and/or HTML resources

... I'm fairly decent with HTML, at this point I'm planning on just doing the code in a text editor to keep it as lean as possible. What I'd really like is a free or inexpensive WYSIWYG HTML designer that doesn't load down the source code with all sorts of crap, like the MS products I have access t...

Re: macro.args

Is there any way to pass more than one variable between macros without using a json object/array? You cannot pass multiple variables between macros. However, there are several constructs that allow you to pas multiple values contained in a single variable : these are typically things like json arra...

Re: listContains question

Why not convert the lists to jsons and use json.intersection ? Then you can just test for the length of the resulting json array. If there is at least one item in the intersection, then there is at least one of the character's classes in the supplied list: [H: Class.json = json.fromList( Class )][H:...

Re: Drop-Down List in a Frame

1. Did you check "Apply to Selected Tokens" for the macro? If not, currentToken() will be empty, and MapTool won't know what to do (hence, the error message). 2. Try this code, which is a bit more robust (fewer error messages, but rather empty or no output if there is a problem): [if( ...

Re: Drop-Down List in a Frame

Hi, I'm trying to follow along here. I pasted the code here into a macro and working through the issue of the UDF's I finally got it to do something but I still get it asking what values these should have token.name & Race. I had thought that the first was probably the Tokens name (Duh!) and th...

Re: If trouble

Haven't found the min statement in the document's I've been reading yet. I have seen it in some sample code, but I assumed was for rounding down an expression. ... So basically it's stating that Endurance will be whichever is the lower of the options in parenthesis. Is this only to compare two vari...

Re: Changing form button display

Did you ever figure out a way to either format the button (not possible I believe with CSS) or have a submit link? Sadly, no. There are many HTML elements (tags) that are not affected by CSS in MapTool. In my experience, form elements fall into this category, but I don't know much about the actual ...

Re: varsFromStrProp limitation

I thought the problem would be that periods are not allowed in StrProp keys, thus varsFromStrProp would not find the full key / variable name? At any rate, I ended up just writing a varsFrom.json UDF a while ago, though with a bunch of options most people are probably not interested in (prefix, suff...

Re: Tables & JSONs & Loops ... Oh MY!

I think what CoveredInFish means to say is that you have extra colons in your roll options ( double ':', not smiley faces ). All roll options are separated by commas from each other, and by a single colon ':' from the commands themselves: [h, if(introw <= str), code: { and here [h, if(introw > str):...
