Re: FEATURE: Vision limiter

I think I prefer this all as part of what is discussed here as one largish change to VBL is better than 1 largeish change, throwing that out and then doing the largish change again... I guess if we come to a conclusion in both threads we can combine the two into one and discard these two Sorry I di...

Re: Merging Nerps to 1.4

Ya, I was afraid of something stupid like that...On a similar note I did see some gradle/jar projects that helped "normalize" java code (ie put {} on same line/new line, etc), not sure if that would also normalize line returns or not? But the better question is....what the heck do I do no...

Re: Merging Nerps to 1.4

Ok, so learned a little about Gradle tonight. Started with TokenTool; I made some changes to the gradle script, I added the eclipse plugin so not sure if that can be conditional or not. Added additional required libs and hosted my custom rplib on my webserver so you can skip what I sent you for now...

That works for the short term, email me the jar file and I will set it all up

Re: HTTP functions take Map Tool to the Cloud!

At this point where MT can't save anything to the disk I think its ok just on first attempt at a connection to pop up a dialog saying something along the lines of macros from this campaign are trying to make a connection to websites/blah/whatever and give them options that amount to ok but ask me ag...

Re: Contributing to MapTool 1.4

Cool beans. And ya, I assume Java 1.8 but for now there shouldn't be an issue "supporting" 1.7. My thoughts on the matter are 1.8 has been in GA for quite a while and there are several patches to it already so I can't see why we wont move to 1.8 soonish. But for 1.4.0 (at the least) my go...

Re: Merging Nerps to 1.4

My goal for MapTool is for 1.4.0 to be compatible with the latest 1.3 so people can move straight from 1.3 to 1.4.0 and get any new features and bug fixes. So I guess anything that doesn't break compatibility for 1.3 campaigns is ok. I think you already have suggestions from other people as to what ...

Re: 1.4 Functional Direction and Assignments

GitHub has an issue tracker https://guides.github.com/features/issues/ I have put some issues in there but not played around with it a great deal yet.
One of the advantages though is you can reference your commits in there when you update the issue.

Re: Casting new light on MapTool

I wanted to add some thing like this and started writing my own (I don't know what to call it because its not really either ray casting or shadow casting) library similar to straight edge a while ago. But now straight edge has a lot more than it used to so it looks like it should work well -- and my...

Re: Contributing to MapTool 1.4

Thanks for the write up! Question on the Pull Requests.... Ok, I have MT 1.4 forked and now my own repository/version copied locally and make some changes. Lets say I modify MapToolFrame.java. Also, I have some changes in MapTool.java and ZoneView.java but those are not ready. 1. When I submit the ...

Re: The road to 1.4.0 (and a bit beyond)

For the source in github for 1.4 and the build instructions I have purposefully not mentioned any IDE because well I don't care so much what people use Also i am not a fan of eclipse, too many times I have had to reinstall and start from scratch because a plugin update broke everything. If someone w...

Re: 1.3b91 out of memory errors

As aliasmask said this will be because you are running the 32bit version of Java. With that programs only have 2 gig of addressable memory You have allocated 1 gig to the heap (max size, the min size doesn't matter here). That leaves 1gig, part of that 1gig is taken up by the Virtual machine, more i...
