Re: PackedFile.java Source Code
Some of this comes down to what the coder actually wants to code and how much time they want to spend on it. As I don't want anybody to get me wrong, let's put it clearly. This is exactly why I said "my two cents" and "what do you think?". I'm not coding MapTool and the dev team...

Re: PackedFile.java Source Code
My two cents: I'd agree with RPTroll on this. It seems an awful loss of coding time (which is sparse) to develop an internal code editor instead of an easy way to export/import macros and all the campaign stuff. We won't get close to existing code editors, not talking of all other developing tools. ...

Re: PackedFile.java Source Code
Well, this could give access to versioning and thus easier collaborative work on frameworks, but this might be considered over the top.

Makes sense to me.

Re: PackedFile.java Source Code
In the OP you stated that you wish to implement versioning control, but is it only for macros' text or a whole framework ? Don't forget that some metadatas influence the way the macro behaves and you'll probably want to keep track of changes in macro's storing places in MapTool (token, lib token, ca...

Re: The road to 1.4.0 (and a bit beyond)
As I don't remember it being a subject of it's own for quite a long time now, I dare asking: what are the dev team's thoughts on JavaScript as an additional script language? I saw a few mentions here and there in the reviving 1.4 project threads (HTML server, database, etc.), but is there a overall ...

As most people here, as long as it's game related and simple I don't mind.
The donation banner would be worth a try though.

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!
The reason I don't join the MT dev team is because MT is dead technology. It is not the future of VTT. Trying to keep it on life support is not the way to go. It needs a complete rebuild, from the ground up, as a no-download-needed solution for players (web interface). It needs SQL (or noSQL) datab...

Re: [Hopefully] MapTool 1.3 Build 91
Ran it on MacOS 10.6.8, Java 6. It seems to work after a very quick test with the french Savage Worlds framework. I don't know if the Java version will prove to be a problem later Note : you've got to copy the launcher outside of the package to use it. Just create a launcher directory, right-click t...

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository
Always interested in the progresses you make.
Regarding button mapping I would try to keep it consistent regarding the actions mapped rather than the object manipulated. But that's just my two cents.
Glad to see you're still working on it. Thanks.

I'm always glad to notice a french appearance in a foreign (from a french viewpoint) work, but please, no more Google Translate use It really hurts to read barely understandable faked sentences. You must know at least a few jokes about the "english" notices of chinese products Please, plea...
