Re: Top Down Battlemap using UDK (Unreal3 Engine)

feces like this made by "amateurs" as a hobby makes me wonder how in the hell that WotC can never get anything close to this quality.

Re: Grabbing a Macro Label

[getMacroName()] Really? The wiki entry for that said that it would say "Chat" for clicked macro buttons. It would only work for macros executed by macro , so I didnt tested that way. If this DOES work we should edit the wiki page. It works. Though this was tested as a GM, not a player.

Re: Tutorial: Using GIMP to create Top-Down tokens

I like using WoW because all the monsters and even the PC's if you want to go that far will have a similar visual style. The tokens will all match and won't look odd next to each other. There's also a huge ton of variety because that boar I posted has quite a few other skins for different coloring a...

Re: Tutorial: Using GIMP to create Top-Down tokens

A great tutorial. It inspired me to take screenshots of Oblivion characters and make tokens from them. Trying to select around the perimeter of the desired token image is very tedious, but even a few visual "glitches" don't seem to bad to me. Thanks for the tutorial. Step 1: Go to: m and ...

Re: Online RPG Game Board

1. Need to be able to zoom in and out of the map both when making it and when using it for a game. 2. Names / Labels for the tokens. Even if it's just a letter/number combination. 3. Numbered grid coordinates along the top and side. 4. Tile rotation when making a map. I didn't see any buttons for ro...

Re: MapTool 1.4

Cool idea. We have plans to add "multi-channel" support to chat to allow for multiple separate chats at the same time (maybe in 1.4, more likely in the next version). Then the problem becomes finding a good way to display the information and allowing the user to interact with it. For exam...

I really like it. It's so much easier to edit macros inside maptool.

There's my contribution to chaning MT. I much prefer a monospaced font for editing macro's. Makes lining up code blocks much eaiser.

Re: Maptool Concepts: The Next UI, Look, and Feel

Even though MapTool is not for profit, it should be designed that way. That means making everything as simple and easy to use as possible. I've just recently got an invite into the DDI VT and it is leagues ahead of MapTool for getting players and DM's together on the fly. I logged in and not an hou...

Re: Maptool Concepts: The Next UI, Look, and Feel

One more thing to note in the argument about dumbing-down the program: the serious users are also the GMs, a profession that requires quite a bit of intelligence, research and problem-solving. They can handle a complex program. The users that will have the most trouble with it are the ones Phergus ...

Re: What am I doing wrong?

I thought that whole vision server/client thing got rolled back? And what I meant, was that all options for vision should be server side. Clients shouldn't have to change anything to allow revealing of the map when moving.

Players Can Reveal should really be a server-side option.

MapTool at it's most basic use is simple to use, discounting networking problems.
