Re: A New Blog: The Dice of Life

I am really digging this blog, but it is totally depressing me. Half of the articles are about why as you grow up you must eventually experience the slow death of your gaming life as your social life is rent into itty bitty pieces and sacrificed to your kids and spouse. The other half is about all ...

Re: A New Blog: The Dice of Life

Read it. Liked it. Kinda amusing to see a part of yourself in a gaming life story when you live in a different country, different culture and/or different "era". That's what we were hoping for. We want our readers to get a sense of connection, to be able to relate to us and to know that w...

Thanks mate. I'll read those threads at my leisure!

Re: Flying over the VBL

Or use layers that can be shown or hidden with a simple check box. Let's say there's a group of bad guys on a roof and the PCs are on the ground level. The roof layer will be the topmost. Place the bad guy tokens there. Hide that layer. If a player flies or climbs up and the PC can see the roof, sho...

A New Blog: The Dice of Life

I know many of us are RPG enthusiasts with very little time on our hands. Most of us have full-time jobs, families, non-gamer friends, and other hobbies. Well, snikle, RPTroll, and I have created a new blog titled The Dice of Life that we hope will provide new (or old) ideas and resources to help yo...

Re: [Savage Worlds] RPTroll's Campaign File Framework

I just keep having horrible flashbacks to the debacle that was E-Tools which tried to manage 3e rules. The 3e rules weren't designed to accomodate such automation. 4e was supposed to have been designed with digital, database-driven tools in mind, but I don't know how successful they were with achie...

Re: [Savage Worlds] RPTroll's Campaign File Framework

My concern with all of this automation for Savage Worlds, particularly with tokens for different settings, managing any rules variant that each setting has or the effects an edge from any given setting might have will become problematic. There aren't really many rules associated with the values in ...
