Re: cant open .Jar files on windows 8.1

Occasionally an overzealous archiver decides to handle jar files (instead of letting java do that) as jar files are glorified zip-files. So if you install such an archiver *after* installing java, you need to fix the "default handler".

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

Yet another update, this is not forgotten. Is there a place to upload test versions here or would I need to get my own space? It would be nice to have some feedback before totally going into the wrong direction. In particular, I don't know how this all fits into the 1.4 discussion.

This has been reported before and a patch submitted. (Don't have references handy.)

Re: Question about how VBL works.

Oddly enough, aliasmask, you state your method sacrificies performance in the other post. Some general remarks on performance. VBL in MT is based on java areas, basically constructive solid geometry, CSG for short. ⋅  All objects are kept, they are not coerced (I am not even sure, whether ...

Re: Scripting/planning ahead for colorblind gamers...

Usually monitors prvide ways to turn themselves into grayscale. In case you can't find them (like I can't on this laptop:-)) make a screenshot and dump it into gimp/photoshop. Turn to grayscale. That gives you a pretty good estimation how something would look for a fully color-blind person. And it d...

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

Just as a sign of life: work has continued and a lot of things already work. You may consider this now the first pre-alpha version ready to be tested (as far as the reduced feature set is concerned). It is still build-it-youself, but I think it has the basic ingredients JML mentions.

Re: Launcher Fails to Launch (Sometimes!)

It may also have to do with multiple java versions being installed or with Archivers (winrar, ...). The latter register ("Windows registry") themselves for jar files but some are unable to open them still, for reasons I do not understand. They just fail. When you say restarts help, that so...

Re: Problem with Frames in Java 8

The gradle part. Git is not a problem. The gradle thing requires me to install a lot of other stuff and HD space is a scarce commodity on my old system. And I haven't even started. (In fact, some curious things pop up once in a while in MT2.0, because I haven't managed to upgrade to Maven 3.0, which...

Re: Problem with Frames in Java 8

I have been trying for over an hour to get my eclipse to import the new GIT repo for 1.3 but couldn't get it to work. Probably I need a gradle plugin or similar. So here's the patch. Around net.rptools.maptool.client.ui.htmlframe.HTMLPane.setText(HTMLPane.java:165) replace Enumeration<?> snames = st...

Re: Problem with Frames in Java 8

Well, this IS a bug in Maptool, Java 7 apparently has some internal different workings that prevent the bug from showing up. Maybe only with 100+ styles, who knows. Not using stylesheets but inlining styles (as you suggest) is a proper workaround. (The same "Not-Oracle's-fault" was true fo...

Re: Problem with Frames in Java 8

Is this therefore a bug that needs to be raised for version B91 - and if so how do I log it? It is a bug (and relatively easy to fix) but I don't know how to log it, so that the powers that be fix it. Maybe they stumble across this. If aliasmask's suggestions work, use those. 1.3 development is com...

Re: Problem with Frames in Java 8

Doesn't look like a race condition. Usually such things happen when you modify a list you are iterating. Unless you choose the right iterator, that fails exactly like that. At the code in question (trunk) we have: StyleSheet style = document.getStyleSheet(); HTMLEditorKit.Parser parse = editorKit.ge...

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

So, you can save your drawings now and vision is enabled. As stated, everything is rather rough around the edges. Some points that keep me from releasing this as a (pre-)alpha of "whatever" (1.4, 2.0, prototype,...) * findbugs has only recently been upgraded to Java 8 and requires maven 3,...

Re: MapTool GitHub Repository is open for business

I havent seen all his stuff -- so I appologise upfront for stuff I dont know about or has changed drastically since I last saw it -- but from what I have, some of it like the asset mamager can and should be intergrated, and some of it like some of his mock ui is just a mock up and doesn't do much b...
