Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

I have added a few pieces and made the UI a (small) bit more userfriendly yesterday. I have been following the discussions regarding forks etc in other threads. Seeing that 2.0 generates little to no interest (compared to 1.4) and my time is limited to a few hours each week I will let this endeavour...

Re: Quick question: Ideal native size for image assets

Searching for "SVG" turns up a few things. I'm not sure whether that includes what you are looking for.

For 1.4 you could also contact Lee.

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

I added in a few more things. Now I'd like to prototype the client/server technology. Was there any decision on what to use? I personally would like to use JSON to be able to more easily debug communication. Hessian doesn't lend itself to that. Has there been a discussion here about that? Any other ...

Re: MT: doing some refactoring stuff to get to know the code

You may find the odd tester that will check out your refactoring, but usually only if that adds functionality. You picked the "wrong" time for refactoring (although this time has been with us for a while now). 1.3 is basically closed except for bug fixing and 1.4/2.0 hasn't been started an...

Just a guess: personal firewall (on either end)?

I also don't consider myself a leader here; my support in maptool was just a few patches so far. But as all devs around here, we "surface" only ever so often and I wanted to make my results available.

Since we are already in sarcasm mode, let me say that I consider Microsoft Windows a malware specifically written against Java. I also never swallow flame bait.

Re: RPTools "next" Git Repository

1.4/2.0 discussions have died down once more it seems. I have added a bit of code to the repository this thread started out with to illustrate a few concepts. Not very well documented, I'm afraid, as it should be for prototypes. I also did some minor updates here: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic...

Re: Future graphics on VTT???

Would you still be able to put MT in a browser? To be honest, I couldn't care less about MT on a mobile, but in a browser would be brilliant since it would immediately remove the biggest hurdles people have to make for take-up i.e. installation and server connection. This seems to be a common misco...

Re: Java API

MT is open source, so you can consider all of it as a big API. I admit this is a rather tongue-in-cheek, but people did introduce sound this way. And in earlier days, such extra functionality was later added to the main line; currently development is rather slow. I am almost certain, the current ver...

Re: New Map NullPointer Problem

But there really is a bug in MT here. When there is an error while trying to show the error box, it runs into an endless loop. I thought this was fixed, but apparently it is not (in the version with with the error.txt above). I can't remember the reason why I got it, but it possibly had to do with s...

Re: MapTool - Development - Java 6 vs Java 7 coding

Every class file contains a version in its header. 51 means it was compiled for a j7 runtime, usually by a j7 compiler. The same situation is possible with j6 and j5, etc. You can get a j7 compiler to generate j6 code, btw. Whenever the classloader needs to load a class, it checks the version to see...
