Oh, I never even tried that. That kicks so much donkey it is ridiculous.

Something that I've started doing in 1.2 (since that's the version that I'm using to run my game)... Is that I have a "Base Campaing File" that has a "Token Storage Map" Whenever I am creating new tokens to fill with speech and whatnot, I create them in the Base Campaign File's T...

More specifically, you're using build 19 of version 1.3... So, you should be able to alter the token properties in the campaign settings menu, as described above.

I actually had this happen to me a few weeks ago, while running a game with 1.2... So it's not something that's new to 1.3. I have no idea how it happened, though.

Hey... I've just gotten ventrilo server (to possibly use vent to replace skype for my group's VOIP)... But folks outside cannot connect to the server I'm running. I'm already running the maptool server, so I know about port forwarding and whatnot, but I'm still having no luck. Does anyone know if th...

Hmm... I have an idea for how it might be possible to handle vbl elevation. It seems like it should be pretty simple, but I'm not sure.... So, let me explain how it might work, and then maybe we can see... When you draw a piece of topology (light blocking polygon), you could (optionally) give it a h...

another possibility might be a min or max operator on the die roll... Something like:

[d20+6 min 12] which would result in a range between 12 and 26. Or... [d8+3 max 6] which would result in a range between 4 and 6.

How about multi-storied buildings? Is there something that can be done to help with that? It has the same sort of problems as having the players on the roof. Expandable and collapsible objects would be pretty useful for multi-storied buildings, so long as you didn't need to actually display more th...

Good lord, man! You're doing this whole thing for the love of gaming... And you don't even get to use it!? We've got to get you into more games!

Glad you like it. Truth be told, I stole it from someone else. I originally heard of it from Warlord Ralts of ENWorld and other forums. It works pretty well for my current group, but the sort of backwards way that things work to how everyone expects takes a little bit of getting used to. Later silver

The absolute coolest part of DM genie is the calendar and (assosiated) weather generator and event reminders. It is pretty much the only part of DM genie that I use. If something like that could be integrated into IT... or another tool. I would be Sooooo happy.

Re: Advanced Interactive Skill Resolution

So I personally have a system that fits both groups. What I do is still go by the roll of the dice. I still am firm with skill points, however, I do give a +2 synergy bonus for the people that go the extra mile and make the game a lot more interesting and fun by acting. Everybody is aware of that a...

If you use SHIFT + CLICK, it removes topology.

The Shift-Click works the same way with all of the drawing tools.

And WotC probably didn't post the structure of their format, so you'd have to guess based on examples. Here is a link to the design and development article where they talk about the three different 'standard' stat blocks... i.e. the one found in the Monster Manual (and the SRD), the one found in mo...

Yeah, but would you really be doing character generation in MT, I would think that would be too time consuming to do while trying to play a game. But that's a valid example. Is there a game mechanic that requires dropping the lowest x die? Action points allow you to keep the highest roll out of two...
