Re: Curious Error / MT Bug

The problem in my case is smiley replacement! This is what gets inserted into the chat window:

Code: Select all

Re: Curious Error / MT Bug

I've run a first quick check following the clue given by the exception message and it clearly indicates that ... the error is somewhere else  I suspect that something goes wrong when the link is created. I'll check on that tonight.

Re: Whole lotta bad...

Ok, first results: I've got the map to load after increasing my JVM max memory size to 2GB for debugging. It seems to me that the xstream runs into memory issues while trying to parse the content.xml file. It also seems that if that's really the case, there not much one can do about it in 1.3. The o...

Re: Whole lotta bad...

I've tried the file and I get the same error in both my b87 and my development build.
Let's see what I can get from the debugger.

Re: [patch] Catch errors occuring during error handling.

This was tested by artificially inserting an error in MapToolEventQueue.displayPopup() in debug mode.

[patch] Catch errors occuring during error handling.

http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20776 describes a situation in which an exception occurs while trying to display an exception thus leading to an infinite try-catch loop. The attached patch prevents that loop by falling back to a standard JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() (doesn't lo...

Re: Running on a headless system

A headless client is a client without a UI but an API instead to receive input from another program. Oooh. More intrigued than ever I have a little AI project in a 2D VTT like environment some time down the road. MT is close to the environment I need and also, withouth the ui, should be light-weigh...

Re: Running on a headless system

We never said the server depended on OSGI. Ah, my bad. What I meant to say is that OSGi or no, my headless server plans remain unchanged. We're more concerned that a missing plugin makes the campaign file unusable. ... (There are answers, but they're either onerous for the plugin developer or onero...

Re: [patch] Color selection changes

I've exported a simple macro from my b87 and imported it to the local build and it displays correctly.

Re: Running on a headless system

Well, about OSGI... It likely won't happen. There are some massive problems with serializing Java objects using OSGI when there are plugins loaded into the Java code and those objects are part of the serialization. There's no good way around this right now so we're going to have to drop OSGI from t...

Re: Running on a headless system

Not an option currently seeing that we're in a feature freeze and the next version will just be a code rewrite of existing functionality. In the light of some of the internal changes that are going to happen in the next version (especially the OSGi move) I was planning to provide a headless server ...
