Re: Any table builder?

Tables provide a lookup that associate dice rolls with a value or an image. The video tutorial at http://www.rptoolstutorials.net/videos/ ... ables.html is a good overview.

Re: Tile Based Games & Coding Questions

I should have been more clear, I guess. I was referring to the implementation of MT which doesn't provide any notion of tiles. On the user level you can, of course, emulate tiles with stamps.

Re: Tile Based Games & Coding Questions

I don't know anything about the internals of Master of Magic or why they decided to use two worlds. I guess that MoM uses a very limited set of tile textures and tile states. That allows for fairly tightly packed map data. Now I don't know about MoM but a Civilization map was less than 100x200 (I do...

Have you changed the FtpCommand class for Java7?

Re: Help with Maptools problem

If you are not using Hamachi anymore, the problem could be the default gateway settings shown in the list.

Slightly modified. The switch is easier to read than the nested if.

Re: [patch] Color selection changes

I've pulled a new version of the patch with some additional changes. The new ColorComboBoxRenderer class now exposes the foreground color selection as a public static method and TokenPopupMenu makes use of that method. Also, the last time I had used Java for anything serious was mid-2004ish. Back in...

Re: Bug(?): getTokens and docked MT panels [MT 1.86 and1.87]

I've just tried this but I don't think that's a bug. The visible condition on getTokens() checks visibility with the renderer. This is the relevant part of the code that does this: case VISIBLE: for (GUID id : zoneRenderer.getVisibleTokenSet()) { tokenList.add(zone.getToken(id)); } A dock reduces th...

Re: Future graphics on VTT???

Nevertheless, I think that this example can also provide some ideas for MT's next version (MapTool Next Generation?) that don't come as built-in features but as 3rd party modules. Of course, I don't know how much the core devs want to change in the architecture. But if, for example, the standard map...

Re: MapTool Version 1.3.b87 Popup Bug

I found the reason for this behaviour. What's going on is that the ScrollingPanel is set to a maxHeight of 3/4 of the screen height. However, the ScrollingPane doesn't know how much additional screen real estate is needed for dialog controls. The buttons, window decorations, border, title bar and th...

[patch] Input dialog height

The tab selectors of an input dialog add to the overall height of the dialog window. As a consequence, when having too many lines of tab selectors, the dialog might exceed the screen height. The attached patch adds a workaround for the problem. This is not a clean fix. (Not by my standards, anyway.)...

Re: [1.3 b87] json.type NullPointerException

I could wrap it in a try but I don't think it should be solved like that. JSONMacroFunctions.getJSONObjectType() does indeed contain a bug (I have posted a fix in http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=22436 Internally all json functions can also take non-json parameters, they are conver...

[patch] json.type

This is a patch for http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=22429 JSONMacroFunctions.getJSONObjectType(Object obj) contains a bug. When called with a non-json object the following branch applies: String str = obj.toString().trim(); if (str.startsWith("{") || str.startsWith("...

Re: [1.3 b87] json.type NullPointerException

Duh, I just noticed that the parser class files had not been rebuilt after switching branches. Having everything back to normal there is no null pointer exception (although I get one in b87, too). Json.type does indeed see "[r: ...]" as a malformed json list and complains about it in a pro...
