Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

I re-tooled all my macros so they do not use the macro.return var in the calling macros, I decided to use a token property to transfer the arrays between UDF's instead. I looked at the variable vomit between many steps, and did not notice any strange artifacts in them (I did find a really weird hex-...

Re: Could someone recreate my States macro for me?

I don't know too much about your existing framework, but here is a link for a framework that has a balance between automation and taking care of everything for you. It does have many different states and spell effects, which affect the token and display status icons. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?...

Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

Quick question on the UDF front; Is it sufficient to have; (pseudocode) [h: arrayHasBeenProcessed = Pull.CriticalMultiplier(arrayIWantToProcess)] to call the UDF actual code [h: attackArray = Pull.CriticalMultiplier(attackArray)] and the called code has(at the very end of the UDF); (pseudocode) [mac...

Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

Hrm, that's disturbing. I'll do a quick rewrite of that now, that's not too hard to fix. Also, my eyeballs are bleeding now, but I used Natepad++ to Fined/Count all the { [ } ] " ' ( ) in my code, all are matched numerically at least, and I didn;t see any missing sets skimming all my code. And ...

Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

I unchecked smilies and Use inline tool tips was already checked. That was a good catch, although it was not the issue. I had recently re-installed windows and that could have been an issue at some point. Looking at your output, my final product is very close to yours(sadly, just not as pretty). I o...

Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

So, I am in the process of retooling the meaty attack macro mentioned above, and I am running into an odd output error. Firstly, I have narrowed it entirely down to this little piece of code, if I remove it, everything works as intended, and nothing else has been touched (yet). For troubleshooting p...

Re: Re-Tooling for GM only text display

Sigh. Thank you, wolph42. I practically knew the answer, but I wanted someone much more fluent than me to tell me that I couldn't embed if/then statements into strformat() in some creative way. Another rewriting of my attack macros, here I come! I never really used to understand the statement "...

Re-Tooling for GM only text display

I am retooling my framework so that all my NPC's have different macro output from my PC's (you know, so I can hide To-Hits, skill rolls and saving throws from mt PC's). I have been very successful with a super simple solution, below is a short code snippet to elaborate... [h: gmOnly = isNPC()] [h: o...

Re: State checklist dialogue

Thanks gentlemen, that does help out. That solved 2/3 of the problem I was having... That should shorten up my code in that macro by many dozens of lines of code. Thanks! I have managed a lot of neat feats by myself over the last year or so, and it is fun(read: also frustrating) to go back with my n...

State checklist dialogue

Gentlemen, Thanks for the help in the past. I have another, probably quick, question. I would like a popup dialogue that lists all the states and how they are currently set, in check box format. Bonus points if we can get them in 2 columns. (I figure later I can use deleteStrProp or listDelete to re...

Re: GM only macro output

Wolph42: That is helpful. Anything that makes reading my own code easier on the eyes and my memory is very helpful. Irrlicht: Not a problem, you got me moving down the right path, thanks for the correction though! I am rewriting my entire framework from the ground up using all the tricks I have lear...

Re: GM only macro output

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about the if(var != 0)code: option. That is handy, it saves a step and removes yet another chance at forgetting a bracket somewhere. The <!-- Storing the string inside a variable. --> [h: Text = "Takes %{FD} damage, losing %{oldFireProtection} Fire Protection...

GM only macro output

Gentlemen! I am having a difficult time getting macro output to be displayed only to GM's. I can get simple rolls to whisper to a specific person (getting around the 'only GM' issue), but I cannot get items inside a if(): block to do it. Here is sample code; [h: abort(isGM())] [h: te...

Re: Input() Function

Thank you, Aliasmask! That is exactly what I was looking for. Your help is always appreciated. I am going to build in a couple lines of protection code and use a local variable to hold the inputs until they are at least verified to be realistic inputs. Once they are deemed plausible, then they will ...

Maps, anyone?

Y'all, I noticed that I have started to accrue a pile of maps my PC's have defeated. Is there any interest in me posting them all individually here with a very short blurb on what each one is? Alternatively, is there a site where this sort of useful detritus is collected where it could be better used?
