Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!

Mote claims to be open source on their G+ page. I hope that is the case so we can fold some of their changes back into MapTool. I wouldn't hold your breath. MOTE doesn't have a good reason to release their source code in the near future. I know there's that whole 'open and closed version' some peop...

Re: Building with Ant

I've used Eclipse in past - and it is responsible for a good chunk of my IDE hate. Clunky, bloated, and plagued with version/plugin issues. That being said, IntelliJ got me back on board with using an IDE for Java, which is pretty big since I'd pretty much sworn them off. If you've not tried it I se...

Re: MapTool 1.4

We have a live one here... I post because the devolpment aspect interests me also because they allow me too. I am glad you are a dev and i am glad you are here it enriches the community. that being said i think from project stand point it matters little as long as it is consistently applied From a ...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!

<pontificate> Well, if we do things right you can have both. The hope is to set things up so web, mobile, whatever-comes-next can access the functionality without a major redesign for each iteration. Getting it there will be a redesign, however. We hope to attract new developers by putting an archi...

Re: MapTool 1.4

I know this is old news, but the more I read the plans and start to get some grasp of the rather enormous task you're about to undertake and the shift it has on the users and the rift it will create with 1.3 campaign files.... why on earth do you name this 1. 4 and not 2.0(beta?)? To say the least ...

Re: MapTool build notes for Eclipse

Welp. I can't even Pull Request against the dicetool project...unless I'm doing something wrong. I tried to manually pull dicetool, add my own origin on github, and then submit a pull request against origin...but I'm pretty sure that won't work because origin has no branches, no commits, nothin'. No...

Re: New Website

Cross posting here from another thread, but could we get a page, or at least a section, on the Community page, dedicated to where to find the project?

Or maybe a wiki to link to with build instructions...

Re: MapTool build notes for Eclipse

K, I'll look at the github. I have enough versions of RPTool checked out atm. Thank goodness I have the hard drive space for it. m Is the github address I think. I think it would be really helpful to paste links to the SVN/Github, as well as their status, on the main website. As you say, 10 years of...

Re: MapTools Fork List

Seriously, why all the forks. Should help out with the project not fork it into oblivion. Seriously, read the last 3-4 years of posts, THEN feel free to give judgmental posts. Nothing like the new guy coming in and telling you how you've been doing things wrong for the last 5 years.... True. At the...

Re: Mote Kickstarter: We are going LIVE!

Ok, just putting this out there, logically, one of several things WILL happen: A) The world ends. None of this matters (gotta keep things light) B) MOTE gives a shot in the arm to RPTools. Health competition emerges between the community product and the non community product. (Personally, I'd never ...

Re: Nice to meet you ...

And we need developers. It's likely that 1.4 will take a turn to be more modular and we'll need help sorting through the old code base to reproduce the functionality that's there. The goal is to keep the functionality we have but open it to various kinds of front ends. We're still in the planning/c...

New Website

Props on the new website!

Like the design, pleasant surprise being a newcomer. :)

Maybe also this thread would be a good place to put the various kinks and issues you find on the new site.

Re: #RPTools on Freenode

Double posting for the bump, but I'm in #RPTools on freenode, and #rptools on rizon.

I should be for the most part always in there, if I'm not I'll spin up a vps or something.

Thanks. I've made myself busy trying to put together some ant build instructions for this.

Is the author not big on collab? Or have just not many people tried.
