Re: Mac Users: latest Java update from Apple
And people wonder why I hate Macs... This is the *only* problem I have with my Mac, and since my Mac dual-boots Windows XP (and runs it better than my mother's dedicated Windows machine), it's a non-issue. I hate Macs less than I hate Windows. When something breaks on a Windows machine, there's no ...

Re: So I got inspired for Free RPG Day!!!
Cool idea. One thing you might want to consider is putting in some kind of ventilation for the monitor. LCD's can give off significant heat and I suspect it might get pretty hot behind that plexi-glass. Without some ventilation the shelf-life of the monitor might be significantly diminished. If you...

Re: Flying over the VBL
Perhaps have a different area of the map designated as the aerial portion? The GM would need to select two dragon tokens (one flying, one as seen from the ground). All bookkeeping should be done on just one copy of the dragon token, of course.

Re: Someone just gave me this white box with little books in it
Did they produce an edition with Greyhawk and Chainmail? Mine didn't come with those, way back when.
I still have that boxed set, in near-mint condition.

Re: Hero 5th ED macro set, brad's
1) If you are going to have the macros in your global macros window and use the right click "use on selected" option. If you do this method you will either not be able to hide certain rolls of your NPC's from your players or you will need to make duplicate versions of certain macros as &q...

Re: Forums feature request
Could you make a BBCode that simply calls a <style> tag that sets foreground and background color to be the same? The way to reveal would simply be to select the text.
Of course, that might not be very intuitive...

Re: Who shot C3Po? Boba Fett or a Stormtrooper
Now that I think about it, it kinda has to be Boba... C-3PO gets turned into scrap offscreen, you just don't see blasters do that anywhere else. He probably got shot as a distraction while Boba slapped a thermal detonator on him or something. Either that or protocol droids explode as a defensive me...

Re: Mapping a city
I tried this as an experiment. I took this map of my campaign city, and scaled the grid to fit. While it becomes a pixelated nightmare at token-level resolution, I can foresee putting floorplans of frequented areas at higher resolution. So the city looks normal at city view, then when you zoom in to...

Re: MT 1.3b57 Progress
These days I use very little aside from Inkscape for my image creation needs, and I do extremely little image manipulation, so it's perfect for what I need. SVG has some killer capabilities. I love it. Agreed! I really want to find some time to play around with SVG and javascript because I've got s...

That's right. I forgot it wasn't cross-platform.

Kinda assumes a lot.
Of course, I haven't read the survey yet, so I may be jumping to conclusions.

Re: MT 1.3b57 Progress
It looks like that log fire is saved in 24-bit RGB. I'll bet that an 8-bit indexed image would be significantly smaller, but since my GIMP doesn't support it... It would seem to me that an 8-bit png would not be any better at supporting different levels of transparency than a GIF? I don't understan...
