Re: How to: Hide PC from PC in PvP situation

For future reference(1.4), I would like to have visibility settings for: Owner All "team" 1..n where the GM and/or the player can create teams(with GM preference to override of course). This would also help quite a bit with board games when combined with something other than PC/NPC design...

Re: 1.4 feature implementation idea - Layers, VBL and MBL.

Speaking of 1.4 layers. Seems pretty tricky, but I think if there is a mechanic where you can specify which layer can be seen by which other layers it will be possible to have rooms on top of other rooms with different objects and VBL. It will be token specific of who sees what and the GM will be a...

Re: 1.4 feature implementation idea - Layers, VBL and MBL.

As Craig has already said this has all been discussed before and there is nothing new being presented here. Yep. People probably feel better if they see it discussed periodically though. Now that that's happened we can move on to other things. It's not so much that, as it is that there is no one pl...

Re: A few questions for seasoned users of rptools

I think most of my players have rule books. My personal notes are scattered between my wiki, my hard drives (I use Sugar Sync to synchronize multiple computers) and a variety of notebooks on a shelf next to my computer. I have no idea how my players do their own notes - I know that two of them have ...

Re: 1.4 feature implementation idea - Layers, VBL and MBL.

It has also been discussed about the possibility of importing an SVG file. Is that something that might work in your new vbl model? I can understand if a VBL layer can't/won't be a bitmap file. But the ability to import any type of file for VBL - say an SVG file - would be a huge step. Even if I ca...

1.4 feature implementation idea - Layers, VBL and MBL.

Ok, so the post here got me thinking about usability and the underlying architecture of MT in 1.4. Craig says: Vision and Lighting Along with moving to OSGi architecture this is the biggest change. The plan is to completely rewrite this part using a much more efficient way of representing and render...

Re: MapTool 1.4

Quick question - if we have an idea for how to implement something specific in 1.4, where's the best place to post it? Find an existing thread with similar topic? Start a new thread? (and if so, in which forum?) Send a message to one of you guys?

Re: MapTool 1.3 Bugfix Build 75

Ok, so my group finally updated to b75 (from b63, no less) last session. For the most part, things went pretty smooth, and we had few issues. There were a couple of minor things that happened that may/may not be related to b75 - I'll mention them here, but chances are they are more related to the ca...

Re: Need advice for stereo system...

Not exactly wireless, but a possible solution depending on whether or not you own your own home, and can gain access to the proper areas - built in speakers. I just got an email for these, and for my living room, look like a great solution for the same problem. m Of course, I have an attic I can cra...

Re: Need advice for stereo system...

Second question: does anyone have experience with a wireless speaker product that they would recommend for PS3 gaming and/or an occasional movie? I don't need super-duper fidelity, but I would like to (a) avoid dropouts in the audio and (b) avoid interference with my 802g/n network. I'm just trying...

Re: Impersonation confusion

You could have set the GM name of your Sebastians differently (like 1, 2, 3) so you would have known which is which. (I think that the gm name does not appear in the chat, so its not that good solution). I did exactly that - the GM names were the player names "Jay", "Kyle", &quo...

Re: Impersonation confusion

Oh no, I'm not asking for a change. I'm just relating my experiences. To be honest, I'm surprised it worked at all with all four tokens given the exact same name. I got past the initiative thing when needed by randomly renaming the tokens "Sebastian A", "Sebastian B", etc. It wou...

Impersonation confusion

So I had a scenario last night that MT both made extra fun and yet contributed it's own share of confusion to the mix. One of the characters, Tal, was undergoing a ritual that would, in effect, have her character stay on the light side or cross over to the dark side (more backstory to it than that, ...

If these are things that are going to be reused alot, like spell effect templates, etc, why not create tokens/tiles for them?

Re: Only one person can't connect

Assuming her laptop has wireless, you may want to have her try from a public hotspot or two like at a library or coffeeshop. If she could get in from there, it would confirm it's her apartment internet. However, keep in mind that if she can't get in on a public hotspot, it doesn't necessarily mean i...
