Re: How do I retrieve more than one property?

This was pretty close. IIRC (its not a technique I use) this would work: [h:target=target] [h:token(target): targetDEF = getProperty("DEF") [h:token(target): targetCreatureType = getProperty("CreatureType")] Shouldn't that be: [h: target=target][h, token(target): targetDEF = get...

Re: Two questions

Read the Networking FAQ and Setp-By-Step Guide to Server Debugging . Simply put: client connections rarely, if ever, require any special work, but the server must be set up correctly. The guide contains a series of steps to take to pinpoint the problem and steps to fix it. It also contains a bit of ...

Re: Question about Vision Blocking

Actually, everything is blocked by VBL. The players will only see a wall of "Black" beyond any VBL. Turn on Fog of War, then turn on Player view with a token set as PC to view exactly what they would see. Do note that, once the Fog of War has been lifted (by having a token 'see' an area e...

Re: Error in b86 and b87

Most likely you are using Java version 7, which is not compatible with Maptool. Search the forums (like the stickied items on the front page) for Java 7 Bug, and you will find instructions on how to install Java version 6 alongside version 7.

Re: Error...?

There is no default behavior in MapTool to cause this, so you must be using a drop-in resource or framework that is at fault. Which such resources are you using?

Re: laggy campaign

I'm just now finishing a short campaign with 1 single map. Its hand-drawn map but not too big, like 64x64 total squares. There is fairly extensive vbl and light sources involved in it. With all the tokens and macros, its about 6 megs. And its hideously laggy. Just clicking from one token to another...

Re: How do I use the input function twice in one Macro?

Does the code work properly when you remove the spurious comma in the second input?
[h:status=input(
"aTNEvasiveModifier|0|Number of Dice Sacrificed",
)]

Also, at line 104, you have a third input that looks just like the first. Is that intentional?

Re: Bars Visibility Issue

I don't know if it's the macro's fault, a bug or what, but I have this: [h: if(isPC(), setBar("Health", HP/HPmax), setBar("HealthNPC", HP/HPmax))] Where the "Health" bar has its visibility options set to being visible for everybody, while the "HealthNPC" shou...

Re: VBL Question

To elaborate on what the previous posters have said, Vision of an item is determined by several steps. 1) If there is a PC token with vision that has no VBL between it and the item, it can be seen. 2) If there is VBL between the token and the item, then it depends on whether or not the token has eve...

Re: gm (roll option)

Also, are you checking what the players can see by starting a second copy of MapTool and logging in as a player, or are you simply switching to the 'player view'? Only the first method will work. The 'player view' does not affect the contents of the chat window.

The answer is "Yes, sort of, but not completely. It's on the list for future consideration."

That means you're using the Veggiesama framework. Help for that is probably fastest in the User Creations forum.

Step-by-Step Problem Diagnosis (SSPD) ... If you head to the forums and don't have the answers to the questions asked by these steps, you'll be directed here and told to start at Step 1 and progress through them until a step fails. Some steps may not apply to your situation and you can skip them. ....

Re: Chat Customization

MapTool uses a library called Tiny Look and Feel (TinyLaF) to control much of the text options. It may be able to set the background color from it's control utility. Unfortunately, the sourcefourge page is having connection issues, so I can't test this.
