Re: A few performance questions
I've heard several warnings about using clients with different memory settings from each other and from the server. May that is the problem. Maybe you need all of your MT instances set to what the weak link is set to?

Re: MapTool Dev Build (unofficial, version 0.5)
I'm guessing that it might be an external issue that's preventing you connecting with the new library, like a firewall. I checked my firewall log and it shows that nothing remotely MT or Java related was blocked when I started a server, the log only lists permissions for the relevant time. I also t...

Re: MapTool Dev Build (unofficial but the latest)
Creating a server with the old UPnP library takes ~7 seconds. Creating a server with the newest build Dev 0.4 takes a little more than 30 seconds, 32 maybe. It did not give any message again. The port remains closed. Collecting Debug Info of MT Dev 0.4 took quite precisely the same time - just one o...

Re: MapTool Dev Build (unofficial but the latest)
Honestly, as this is a move toward the final build, updating and relying solely on Java 7, IMO, should be considered. I think that would be perfectly fine. All my players have proven to be able to update or install Java ;-) As for UPnP, can you estimate how long it took to setup UPnP with the old l...

Re: MapTool Dev Build (unofficial but the latest)
I'm sorry since I have very limited abilities when it comes to computers I can only test the obvious until specificly instructed to do else. For now I didn't have any other ideas but to test UPnP. Which does not seem to work with Java7. The server starts, no (chat or other) messages are given except...

MAXMEM=512 MINMEM=64 STACKSIZE=2 JVM=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw PROMPT=true Ok,for whatever reason, this code works for me to use java6.The only thing that was different from before is the max,min memory with the stack size. The funny thing is I can change those back when it prompts m...

Re: UPnP Testers Needed (11/21/2012 - Last post)
Sorry for the late update - a lot of RL got in the way. So, I acquired permission and opportunity to manipulate the router. After switching UPnP off and back on - it works perfect now!
With your most recent MT build as well (with j7), like a charm!!!

Re: Testers w/ UPnP needed (11/17/2012 - new MT test build)
Hi Lee. I think the 'lack of interest' is due to a number of things. MapTools is 'supposed to' be in a state of feature freeze, so I am sure people are visiting the forums less because they think there will not be much for updates. Many just may not be aware that enterprising fellows like yourself ...

Re: Testers w/ UPnP needed
Hm, MT takes about 8 seconds to show the Debug Info. I tried the test again a good number of times, but it never found a valid IGD. I should add that I am connected to that router via a wifi extender. On the other hand, that did not stop b88's UPnP from working with the predecessor of the current ro...

Re: Testers w/ UPnP needed
Ok! I don't know what info exactly will be helpful, so I'll give to you what I can gather. So: Sadly, the test.bat does not find a valid gateway device. Java 7 is the system default, so this is probably running on Java 7. MT b87, Java 6: No IDG found, as expected. MT b88, Java 6: ==== Internet Gatew...

Re: Testers w/ UPnP needed
Same problem like Bone White, but I wasn't fast enough to read the result output. The console closes after pausing after saying INFO: Looking for Gateway Devices. Oddly, when I run it as an administrator (Win Vista), the console is only open for a split second in total - no idea whether this is good...

Re: Question re Property Types
You can find that option in the "Edit Token" window (double click on a token to open it), "Config" tab, "Properties" drop-down menu.
Btw, don't forget to hit the "Update" button when you add properties and property types in the campaign properties.

Re: Lag making maptool practically unusable.
This was a big issue for a long time for my group and it almost stopped us from using MT at all. And I am sure there are many out there that did not have our resilience or Shadow Wizard's wisdom to ask and who did gave up on MT because of that. Is there any chance there will be some kind of solution...
