Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
Where is the project going forward if by some chance SJG doesn't have anything to say on it? I'm still developing the framework while I talk with SJG. I'm planning to remove any parts that SJG considers infringement, and re-release an improved version once the negotiations are finished. As I said a...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
I am been think about the SJG Online Policy and the more I think about it the less I think the framework is in violation. The main point of the policy is to make sure people still need to buy their products. As I said before, I am new to fourth edition and I would have never been able to get throug...

Re: Permanently increasing default stack size
Yes.. Stack size should not just be increased without a need. Of course. But I'm not advocating an increase without a need. Most, if not all, who use one of the many frameworks have a need. I am only trying to learn if there is a consistent need beyond what I'm familiar with. In essence, when you i...

Re: Permanently increasing default stack size
Naturally. I do, for the Windows/Linux users. OSX is a bit trickier, so I just send them a modified app file. You can adjust your batch file as follows and give it to your players to start maptools with.
Code: Select all
javaw -Xmx1024M -Xss6M -jar maptool-*.jar run

Permanently increasing default stack size
As far as I know, the default stack size for MapTool is still 2M. Many frameworks require 4M or 6M (or possibly more). Every time a new beta is released, I have to help less tech-savvy players increase their stack size. Is there any support for increasing the default stack size to 6M? Are there any ...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
In this thread on the official GURPS forums , a veteran GURPS player and a developer of the Fantasy Grounds GURPS toolset recounts his experience with developing a VTT framework for GURPS. He reports that when he built and posted a system that handled dice-rolling and result-calculating, SJG asked h...

Re: Black outlines of fog-of-war [1.3b56]
Thanks for the input everyone. It is an aesthetic issue, so people will have different opinions.
(Azhrei, I'm running b70 now. The thread was started over a year ago; I just wanted to see if anyone had new opinions. On another issue: many, many thanks for shepherding the recent releases!)

Re: Black outlines of fog-of-war [1.3b56]
A feathered effect would be great. I assume that it would be more work to add one, though, than to simply remove the black lines.

Re: Black outlines of fog-of-war
I'd still be interested in seeing these black lines and arcs removed. Does anyone else aside from Rumble agree, or does anyone object? I hope it would be an easy change to the code.

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
So, a few questions for GMs who use the framework: 1. What skills do you want to see listed in the initiative tracker? Stealth, observation, search, traps, and diplomacy are obvious candidates, as they're skills a GM might want to roll in large batches without the players knowing of the check. 2. Th...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
I'm still working on the initiative tracker, as I'd like to release something useful and robust. It's requiring some very useful refactoring of the code of the character sheet, postures, and conditions. As of right now, checks of primary (ST, DX, IQ, HT) and secondary (Will, Fright, Per) characteris...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
Winter, the initiative and condition tracker looks great. Just a few comments/suggestions. It would be nice if the HP and FP values were links that used the appropriate macros to change the values. Also if the posture and shock values could have links to change them, it would speed things up for me...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
When I've played with the framework, I've noticed that the GM really has a lot to keep track of. Here's an screenshot of version one of an initiative-and-condition tracker that I hope will make things simpler. initiative tracker v1.png Everything blue is clickable. The picture centers the map on the...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
Thanks, Venatius, for catching this. I dropped a closing }]. Don't know how that made it past my testing, as I was sure this was working. Oh, well. I'll fix the 1.70 release immediately. People who have downloaded 1.70b should download the new Lib:GURPS token from two posts up. Then replace the old ...

Re: Setting up MT for GURPS
Here are the 1.71 Lib:GURPS token, the Campaign Frame macros, and the Campaign Properties in separate files for those of you who want to upgrade your existing campaign files from an earlier version of the framework. I believe adding these three parts will make *any* MapTool campaign GURPS-aware, but...
