Requests / Suggestions for generic forms and Interface

I finally managed to get CharacterTool to run on my Mac (woot!). So far, so good, but my big disappointment, as with most Chararcter Generators / Managers, is that it's not easy to configure the sheet: either layout, structure, or behaviour. I feel this is important, since many gamers I know use som...

I can't get CharTool (0.1b10) to run under Mac OS X 10.5.5. I have JSE 6 and dragged it to the top of the priority list In Java Preferences. CharTool appears to start up (From Web Start), even showing an RPTools logo with green progress bar underneath. Once the progress bar fills up, the application...

-The list is huge and I just don't want to list all the issues with lighting anymore - nobody listens - nobody has the time. ... *Frustrated Dorpond takes to the sky and heads towards Texas* That's unfortunate. The lighting and FoW system is one of the great features of MapTool. For me, this is a k...

It's great the MapTool has chat text formatting, but I wish it would do so using more current standards. This is totally nitpicky, but <b> and <font> tags are not part of the HTML standard and are deprecated - HTML is intended to be semantic and structural, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is for style ...

Do any systems other than 4e have a marked relation between tokens? This is starting to sound very system specific... There are uses for a 'marked' function in D&D 3e, as well. For example: Dodge feat: you can only apply your dodge bonus to AC for attacks from one opponent at a time Some PrC's ...

...Most notable for me is in putting down poly-line topology where I want to be very precise about where it goes and make sure the joints don't have gaps. But because you have to be zoomed in to get that kind of precision, and because the screen does not auto-scroll, I end up having to drop more li...

[quote="plothos"I do think that it'd be a nice feature if there was maybe a window that held the player-assigned tokens (and any the GM indicates should also be included - say by checkbox in the config menu) with all their current properties, states, etc. When the map is changed, the token...

What happened with the current bug where you can't move a selected item / token? Is this too tricky to fix for the next build?

Wow, these builds are flying out at an impressive rate. Thanks for all the hard work.

As an addition I was going to advise not to open b32 campaign files with older versions but you can't do it anyway (tested this). Campaign file doesn't get corrupted or nothing scary happens. So this is not an advice, but a notice :)
Thanks :D

I'm not terribly familiar with the back end of the current parser, but since the chat log is entirely (as I understand it) valid HTML, it seems like a simple trick to do it - have rolls encapsulated in "{}" (or whatever the determination is) use the HTML "abbr" tag. <snip> The H...

Small icons overlaid is probably the best way to present states, from a user perspective (probably not as easy to code, however). What if the text labels associated with each "icon" condition were displayed on mouseover? Either under or beside the label, or with the portrait and stats info...

I'm glad that you mostly like b32. And a selfish note: No one has found a bug with macro button panels
umm .. actually, I mentioned in an early post (perhaps got lost in the middle somewhere) what I thought were bugs, but no one has confirmed or denied them as such :

Thanks for new lighting configurations, Amaril. I noticed that the "Darkness" variants only contain shadowy light: in MapTool, that still doesn't quite behave as you would expect from a Darkness spell, in that it doesn't actually block other light sources, it just adds only shadowy illumin...

I noticed this in the previous build, as well (1.3b31).

by "Size", I mean the "small / medium / large / huge" etc. categories that are pre-defined within MapTool, which determines the number of squares on the grid for the token. That doesn't seem too system-specific to me, but is a parameter internal to MapTool. I'm just curious if th...
