Re: UPnP Issue
Yes, that's true of course. I'm just annoyed because I can't use my flashy new laptop to develop stuff at work and then play on it in the evenings.

Re: UPnP Issue
I hate windows.
It's simply refusing to speak to any other PCs on my network - not even a ping by IP. I'm giving up trying to get MT to work on my work's laptop. It's like fort knox.
Thanks for the help all, as ever!

Re: UPnP Issue
Hmmm, home computers all use WORKGROUP but my work laptop is on a Domain and I don't have permission to swap it onto a Workgroup.
I suspect that means I'm scuppered, right?

Re: UPnP Issue
Hey Phergus, Just tried that - but the Home setup was already set to discoverable. So that doesn't seem to be it. I do have a Domain settiing for when the lappy is at work but right now I'm at home so it goes into Home mode. BTW, the reason this is a problem is that this is a work laptop that I have...

Re: UPnP Issue
The UPnP title is because I can't figure why I get the UPnP error on one laptop but not the other, when starting a server.

Re: UPnP Issue
The win7 machine is a work laptop but its located on my home LAN. The other thread was to find out if it was worth trying some other ports at home as a test. Has anyone got MT working with win7 then?
Cheers!

Running MT under port 23?
I have all sorts of problems running MT oon my work PC. Not surprisingly! They are strict on what ports are enabled and most are disabled. I've been wondering about running MT under port 23 rather than 51234. What would be the effects on MT of doing that?
Cheers!

Re: Rumors of my demise are inaccurate
So..... 6 months since Trevor has visited us..... What is the plan regarding MT v1.4 now guys? Is this something we are expecting Trevor to be doing, or does it come down to us now? If it's down to us now, I'm happy to contribute to the work developing our beloved application if I'm wanted. I submit...

UPnP Issue
I have 2 laptops at home. Both running 1.3b70. One runs Windows7 the other WindowsXP. When I try and start a server on each one (not at the same time!) with UPnP ticked the WindowsXP one works fine. the Windows7 version says that no UpnP devices were found. What gives? Could Windows Firewall be a pr...

Re: Transfer Campaigns Between Computers
My friend just emailed me. The issue was his laptop was running an old version of Java. Updated it to the latest and all works fine. So, it seems you are fine to run MT off a USB stick - for those that care about such things. Cheers Blakey P.S. Sorry for the thread hijack(ish) but at least it was th...

Re: Transfer Campaigns Between Computers
Me and my mate had a problem with this last night. He has MT installed ona USB stick. He runs it off there. He ran v1.3b70 on his PC and created a campaign on that PC. He saved it to theUSB stick. He took this stick out and stuck it into another PC. All worked fine and this other PC could run MT off...

Re: Weird Light Issue
Figured it.
A brand new campaign has a default unitsPerCell of 1. That's what I had. After that I was creating new maps with 5 units per cell. Simply making them 1 unit works.

Weird Light Issue
I have a noddy b70 campaign with one map (Grasslands). It was created with 5 "Distance per cell". The lights on that map all work fine. i.e. a 2 sized forge sheds light 2 squares. However, if I create a new map on the same campaign, all lights are at 1/5th the correct size. What is going w...

Re: Apache Commons Eclipse Plugin Install Issue
Okay, I'm stupid.
The files were already on my laptop - they were just in a different place under Windows7 from XP and so I needed to update the build path.
Sorted.
