Re: Maps in Maptool and Memory Sizes

I've made maps with colors standing in for forests, sand, grasslands, etc. Why do they need to be bitmap fills for MapTools ? I'm confused. Fills can be jpeg and png files also. That is all I use so I know they work fine for fills. I think I am understanding your question correctly, because of Azhr...

Re: Maps in Maptool and Memory Sizes

Semi new to MapTool. Used it briefly about a year ago and loved it. Here's my dilemma: I want to make a zoomable map of an entire Shire roughly 100 by 80 miles. I'd like to zoom into any part of the map for an encounter if necessary. I've seen screen casts of maps done on a planetary scale so I'm p...

Windows 8 Consumer Preview

I am currently in a game as a player, running Maptool in Windows 8 and so far it is working flawlessly.

This PC was an in place upgrade from Win7 to Win8. All apps (java and MT) were previously installed before the upgrade.

Anyway, I thought I'd share this good news.

Re: Spaceship internal tiles/defisgn help.

Go visit dundjinni.com and look at their forums. There is a user by the name of probono, who is currently making many space ship tiles so that you can create your own ship very easily. In their forums their admin actually created a separate TILES category due to the popularity increase. (I think the...

Re: Windows 8

Windows 8 was a complete joy and surprise to me with how fast it was. With bios included, it took 7 seconds to boot from the moment I let go of the power button to the time I logged in. That was a cold boot, no sleep. I was very impressed. All my work apps worked in it, and that wasn't even beta! Fu...

Re: windows phone: interest?

Well that is an interesting question. I can't say for the phone, but I can touch on the PC/Tablets a bit. What I do know is this: - There will be two different type of tablets by the sounds of it http://liliputing.com/2012/02/windows-8-for-arm-x86-to-launch-at-the-same-time.html - There will also be...

Re: windows phone: interest?

Heh, just as I thought. Seems that nobody cares about ms phones. I think that is going to change though with 8. I like mango but 8 is supposed to bring three platforms together (tablet, phone and pc). Time will tell. One thing I can tell you though, there are not that great of a selection of apps co...

Re: iPad clones

Sorry for derailing the thread.. :P Yeah frank, it have to do with all our iPads being the first generation too. I am thinking of wiping the whole thing and starting over to see if that helps, but man, that sounds like a windows solution now, doesn't it? :) For work, I ordered on of those lantronix ...

Re: How do i get maps into maptool?

There are a couple of ways, but the most common is to change your layer to background and then drag the image from your explorer to the MT . That is the most common??? Amongst the whole community?? That strikes me very odd to hear that. The preferred method is the map menu option.. This way you can...

Re: iPad clones

Who would want Windows on their tablet? That's like installing Windows on your automobile and letting it control the car. If you crash the airbag won't deploy. (Yes, that sentence has multiple meanings. :)) I have to be completely honest here Azhrei, ever since IOS 5 was pushed to my iPad, the unit...

windows phone: interest?

Do any of you use or plan to get a windows phone? I am testing a trophy running mango, and I have to say, I am more impressed than I thought I would be (coming from an android phone). It isn't perfect, and there are not enough apps yet, but it is crazy simple to use and works very well in my corpora...
