You should run from webstart to eliminate the possibility of typos or bad settings or an incomplete install. That really doesn't make any sense. That MT started is apparent from the output. There aren't any "settings" nor is there an install. Eliminating user customizations is the first s...

Well, I was rounding the feet but I'm looking at the pixels in the Finder. And I may well be confusing ppi and dpi and all that good stuff. But what I do know is you can get an entire published adventure map in ~ 1/5th the maximum recommended image size. Here is a link to the image. http://homepage....

A 5000x5000 map is hardly a "limit" unless you're designing some kind of Undermountain mega-crawl. And who wants to play with those. =) I trying to create an extensive swamp forest region. Now the main adventure follows a specific path, then some directions to locations by boat until reac...

A 5000x5000 map is hardly a "limit" unless you're designing some kind of Undermountain mega-crawl. And who wants to play with those. =) You can also try the "encounter" format where you have one overview map (perhaps at a lower res) for the group's movement and then each tactical...

I'm curious how/where you plan to store the adventure text. One of the things I love about FantasyGrounds is its support for adventure text (the meat of the adventure so to speak) while MapTool focuses on the visual elements (for obvious reasons!). The little info (i) objects are good but I'm not s...

Just my 2 cents because it seems an appropriate thread to make the comment: I find tokens (the round bordered kind) that use the entire creature image tend to look horrible at all but the most zoomed in sizes. Usually the head is sufficient. Drop the full image into the handout and you get the best ...

Actually, the "quirks" of the Java number generators have been long discussed over on the VASSAL site (www.vassalengine.org). The consensus opinion was that for most people, the default implementation was "good enough" but an alternative was found that could appeal to both camps....

Applications... Utilities... Java... Java Web Start

You should see MapTool listed in the window. Select it and click Remove Selected Application. If you feeling extra destructive, you can open up the Preferences and click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet Files section.

You have the cards as .... tokens? Didn't think of that. You could have the spell effect as a macro right on the token.

(edit)
Can you set a token so that it is only visible to a player? I can imagine it would get a little crowded if everyone could see everyone else's cards all the time.

Anecdotally, I find OSX users tend to upgrade far more often than Windows users.

(edit) just to clarify, I'm running 10.5 too.

Yah, I didn't believe my friend when he was reporting issues with the right click either, but now that I've seen this thread, I see what was going on. He was able to right-click in the Explorer so that's how I knew about it. =)

I'm on my wife's MacBook and its not working. Observations: 1- If you put a token on a map, you can access the context menu by command clicking the token *in the Map Explorer* but not on the map. 2- In Safari, control+click brings up the context menu for a hyperlink. In MapTool, command+click brings...

Which mouse are you guys using?

My son has one of the intel iMacs running 10.5 with a wireless mighty mouse and right-clicks happen just fine. Do you have your secondary mouse button set properly in the System Preferences?
