MapTool 1.6.0-alpha-6 Available for Testing

Post by Phergus »

Note: This is an alpha release and while it is stable enough for testing purposes there may be bugs serious enough to keep it from use in regular game sessions.

Download here.

This release builds on the internal JSON refactoring from 1.5.12 and includes the HTML5 support from previous 1.6 releases. It also includes several new features:
  • New dialog and frame functions support HTML5, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Movement Blocking Layer - Now you can make those Force Fields that would block movement but not sight.
  • Look & Feel themes can now be selected from the Themes menu. More enhancements to come.
  • Predefined Campaign Property sets can now be selected and loaded in the Campaign Properties dialog.
Currently the ones that show up in the list are just duplicates of the current default Campaign Properties. As we get folks to modify them for specific systems, we'll update them.
Framework creators and macro coders, please test with your code.

Documentation is coming for the new features.

In case folks are unclear about the MBL:

Our lonely Hero inside of a house with unbreakable windows and a back door that is locked with no key. (House has VBL/MBL in walls and doors. MBL in windows.)

Hearing a noise out back, he goes to investigate.

Even though he can see through the windows, because they have MBL the AI forces him to go out the front door to get to the back.

So, it looks like there are 3 settings. VBL, VBL/MBL, MBL. So, can tokens move through vbl only? I think with FoW, tokens can't move to space not seen.

There is a toggle in the toolbar for whether or not VBL blocks.

Is that AI only? How does it work with AI turned off? Each toggle doesn't really say what it does or doesn't do.
