Tarot Cards

Post by Merlync70 »

I would love to see, in additions to the playing cards already included, a deck of Tarot Cards, and also a "Deck of Illusions" (see Dungeon Masters Guide 3.5 pg. 254).

Thanks Phergus! I appreciate it. However, I'm not really familiar with this, can you give me just a tad bit more direction? Do I install this program and then find the application somewhere on the website?

Sorry for being a n00b. :(

Gimp is a "paint" application. I think he was saying get creating :-)

Your request did make me think about the Deck of Many things that was published in the Dragon... I might have to grab those images and put it in...

Sorry. GIMP is a paint package like PhotoShop. The not very subtle suggestion behind my post being that you could use GIMP to put together some nice Tarot cards that we all could then share. :) And then we wouldn't be infringing on an authors copyright.

Having said that, it appears that all of the cards for the Rider-Waite deck can be found here:

That's a good thought. I have Photoshop, I could use that. I'm sure that there is documentation around here somewhere for actually making a randomized deck... I would have to learn that. I know that I could simply substitute the 54 graphics with Tarot cards, but that deck is a little larger.... hmmm.... maybe I will take that on.

Also, thanks to the poster above, I have the graphics for the Deck of Many Things. Anyone know if I can use their graphics and post that deck on the forums here? or is it violating copyright by using their stuff and posting it? They did pack it up and distribute it free on their website... Anyone know if I can do that? If not, I suppose I could atleast make it for my own campaign.

BTW, I appreciate that you gave me a free graphics tool. I agree it's better to teach one to fish, than to simply give them a fish. However, I was thinking this was probably already done, so why invent the wheel?

Thanks!

Here are hundreds of full decks: http://www.interhobby.net/tarot/viTarot.php3?Initial=A

And WotC has both the old and new "Deck of Many Things" available on its site: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060614a
