[1.3b49] Sample Bug

Post by trevor »

EXAMPLE ONLY

This is a sample bug report to show proper format. Please format your bugs following this one. There are five components:
  1. The subject
  2. The link to the original discussion
  3. A summary of the problem
  4. A suggested possible solution
  5. Any supporting attachments
Each of these is described in more detail below.

From the dashed line to the end of the post is a sample Bug Report posting.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Original discussion here: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7367

The title should contain the version you were using when you saw the bug and a very brief description (a couple words). It's always best if you can test the bug against the most recent version of MapTool as the bug may already have been fixed. Note that preference is normally given to investigating bug reports of more recent versions than very old ones for this reason.

Please include as complete a discussion as possible of what the bug is (such as, "selecting a group of tokens and right-clicking to select Visible to Players doesn't change all of the tokens, only some of them." Please remember that the person fixing the bug needs to be able to understand your description, so screen snapshots are useful when appropriate.

That person fixing the bug would likely also want to know the suggested solution, which should come out of a consensus in the discussion thread. Once again, a developer that knows how you want it to work is better able to provide something that works for you. Don't assume that the person working on the code plays your game system and is familiar with those rules!

Last, if there are any auxiliary files that the developer needs (such as campaign files, the content of a macro, sample tables, and so on), please attach them here. The attachment size limits have been increased for this subforum and the filename extensions that MapTool uses have been added as "allowed" file types.
