Fog Opacity - Separate settings for GM/Player

Post by daplunk »

Hi Team,

Could we please get separate configuration settings for Fog Opacity for the GM vs Players.

Currently if you are running two instances of the program on the same machine (may work this way for network also, not tested) the Fog Opacity settings are replicated on a connected client once updated on the other one.

Example: GM Server > change Fog Opacity to 255 > Switch to Player Client > Next refresh Fog Opacity is updated to 255.

This makes sense, the GM should be able to set the opacity for the player client. But what's not possible currently is to have the GM Fog Opacity set to something lower to enable them to see the map they are moving tokens on while forcing the players client to only allow visibility to what the token allows them to see.

I don't really see a usable purpose in the way it works now. Being able to define the Fog Opacity is awesome. But the DM should still be able to maintain an understanding of the entire map while the players view is configured as necessary.

Thanks,

Josh
