[1.3b56] Error upon logging in to server

Post by Elorebaen »

Player logs in to server (Server: b56 port 51234) using RPNet Alias and within a minute or so starts receiving the following error.

We tried this multiple times, and the error consistently appeared.

Ok.. It's VERY important to know exactly what he is mousing over when he gets this error. Also, please upload the campaign file and let us know what map this is on.
I save all my Campaign Files to DropBox. Not only can I access a campaign file from pretty much any OS that will run Maptool(Win,OSX, linux), but each file is versioned, so if something goes crazy wild, I can always roll back to a previous version of the same file.

Get your Dropbox 2GB via my referral link, and as a bonus, I get an extra 250 MB of space. Even if you don't don't use my link, I still enthusiastically recommend Dropbox..

It appears to be a macro button but we need more information(ie, is it all, only some, on which macro tab is he getting the error.) Also, please upload the campaign file and let us know what map this is on.

I had not loaded a camp file yet, so it was just the default green grass.

ummm ok... so you have some macros set up? Or has he/you dropped in a token from somewhere else that has macros set up?

The campaign window is currently empty, though when we play my campaigns do have macros in the camp window. I see where you are going with this, and I will test it with a camp file loaded and see if we receive the same error. It will be probably this evening. Thank you for the quick response!

Looks like you need to have a campaign file loaded w/ macros if you start the server (setting it up to give players camp macros).

No errors once I loaded a campaign.

Thanks for the help!

I'm having this same problem myself, and I'm not sure I understand how you solved it.

What was causing the problem and what exactly did you do to fix it?

When you start a server one of the options is "Players receive campaign macros". If you have this checked, but do not have campaign macros available, and a player logs in, you will receive the error.

What this means is that the DM needs to have a campaign loaded w/ the camp macros if they have that checked, or the players will receive the error.

At least that is my understanding at this time. I hope that helps!
